o.k. my friend on the west coast,
mid divorce and the ex wants to buy his half of the house.
    gets an appraisal..
    comes in 100.000 $ LOW.
    c’mon…really?
    so he says NO.
and will not settle just to have it over with..
and is now getting another appraisal for the house.
    .
he told me to post this,
A MAN OUT THERE WHO IS NOT BEING SCREWED OVER .
    .
    i’m proud of him.
one friend got married this past weekend,
and one is not taking some low-ball offer on his home.
    go figure….
    .
    advice,
do not settle until it’s as close to fair as possible.

Yeah and always get multiple quotes, who knows the appraiser could know his wife.

Women , no doubt she said low ball it .. the c~~~ will be getting a pay off it would not have been here money.

A friend of mine divorced 9 years ago , kids grown split the house equity and she had a car.

He never got the decree absolute , so the c~~~ comes back with a witches coven 6 years later after his pension.

He is retired, she is working and has a pension growing in the end he winds up paying the c~~~ an extra €7000

The point being the hideous c~~~ could not abide by her word.

5 years ago my ex decided to celebrate her post-hormonal psychosis by announcing she hadn’t loved me for a decade and wanted a divorce…11 weeks shy of 27 years of marriage.

That was a Tuesday evening. We stayed in the house together for another 4 days. The first night I kicked her out of the master bedroom….told her it was for married adults.

The following Saturday morning, she came into the kitchen and asked if I was moving out that day. Told her it was her divorce and if anyone was moving, it was going to be her. We lived (and I currently do) on property given me by MY parents among multiple of MY relatives. She decided to relocate to a vacation house her parents owned but told me she’d be in and out for other belongings and to do laundry. I just nodded my head and smiled. When she packed and backed out of the driveway, I followed her out…when she turned left to go to her parent’s place, I turned right and went to the nearest hardware store for new locks.

Her mistake was to abandon the property a month before filing divorce papers. She tried to have me sanctioned by the judge for locking her out but when I produced the date-stamped receipt for the locks that pre-dated temporary orders by over a month as well as a sworn statement from our town’s Marshall (I live in a small town) stating that I provided him with a key if she needed access when I wasn’t there (accompanied by an officer), the judge had to tell her there was nothing he could do about me restricting access to the property. That felt damned near as good as sex.
