Just got a letter from the lawyer the other day. As of the 3rd of Nov. I’m no longer her slave, or hostage to her lunatic demands. cleaned me out down to the last couple hundred in cash but I’m free. In NZ this is separate from ending the marriage from what I gather. Another few months and I can consider that as there is a 2 year wait before you can apply.
Just on the phone this morning cutting off my supplying her free medical insurance. May karma bring her severe illness the day after that goes thru.
Also been doing battle with IRD’s most difficult form. The dreaded IR120 recognised care questionnaire. 4 pages of details to fill in and 2 calendar years on wich you must mark all the days you cared for the child, and in another colour al the days the other parent (and I use the term parent loosely) cared for the child. You just know it’s used to discourage guys like me from going after a fair deal.
Kinda my fault for asking them to provide details of WHY they were doing me for 100% support.
There are a few tricks I’d be glad to share with other kiwi dads who face filling these out.
It sucks the very life out of you but if we don’t fight the little things they just keep getting stronger.
