This past Tuesday I did another election assignment for local politics and other boring s~~~ no one cares about and it sucked; it was long and boring and I have some things to rant about:

There was an adjustment to who showed up. Originally there were suppose to be 9 people total (3 guys and 6 women), but it ended up being 6 (2 guys and 4 women).

One of the judges came an hour late – fat woman.

After the first voter showed up, it was still pretty quite there so I started a conversation with the other judges and I was told by another judge (black woman) to shut up because we don’t want to disturb the few voters we had. Yet, everyone else for the rest of the day were talking like a hurricane while I kept to myself most of the day. She’s nagging and nagging for 10 minutes on why I shouldn’t talk at all. Again, she and everyone else was yapping all day, after I was told to be silent. So there’s that guilt.

Someone from the county brought us doughnuts for breakfast and made us coffee, which is nice. But the guilt-loving woman gave me a hard time about me taking any of those doughnuts which I don’t took 2 which is how much we each were entitled to get. So there’s that guilt.

Shortly later on, that same woman asked me if I brought a lunch and I said “yes, I made 2 turkey sandwiches, bottled water, 2 Butterfinger, and Doritos; and she’s pushing me to give her one of my sandwiches because she forgot to pack a lunch herself. I said “no, I’m not responsible for your lunch. I made my own lunch. Why didn’t you make yours?” And she’s guilting me and riding my ass over it for 20 minutes about me not giving her my sandwich, because she felt entitled to it. She even used this one on me “I treated you like a son.” She never treated me like a son any of those 8 times I’ve worked with her. In fact, she gives me a hard time about my personal life and things I’m sensitive about. Again, I don’t owe her my sandwich just because I made a second one and she was too lazy to make one herself. I’m not responsible for her lunch. So there was plenty of guilt over a f~~~ing sandwich.

Grand total for the 16 hours I was there, I took 30 minutes off when you include the bathroom breaks and the 15 minutes for lunch while everyone else would take a break every half hour for 45 minutes, leaving me to do both my work and theirs. Yes, I worked 15 1/2 hours that day and my body is still feeling it a little. What bugged me is while I’m left all alone in the room to take care of 20 people, the rest of them were having a pizza party in the kitchen. So I’m doing all my work and a lot of theirs while they’re having a pizza party. Stuff like that was the whole day; I do all my work plus a large load of everyone else’s work. P~~~es me off!

Most of the people voting (95%) were old farts over 65 and they are total scatter brains who don’t know s~~~. One woman was a real bitch because there were 4 Republicans working at the time and she asked “what are there no Democrats here?” In my mind, I’m saying “Does it really matter? We’re here to help you vote not represent parties old bitch!” Another woman refused to have me scan her ballot to give her access code “I need to go to that woman there!” So she gets her ballot scanned by the woman working the other scanner machine, then she’s an idiot going back to my side of the room to vote and she’s bitching that she can’t get in and I told her it’s because you weren’t scanned on my side, you have to go on the other side.

Speaking of the woman working next to me. She has no voters on her side, while I have a full house and she’s yapping for 15 minutes to a female voter on and on and on to the point it’s aggravating me. So I make her take a voter and she got a little crabby that I had to break up her bulls~~~ talk “why couldn’t you take care of him?” And I said “it’s because I’m full here and you have no one on your side and because you’re talking instead of working!” This is the same woman who would talk every f~~~ing subject to death whenever a female voter came while I’m taking care of more voters than I can back in November. I’m like “SHUT UP AND WORK!”

After 12 PM I started to get sick of voters to the point that I just wanted them to go away, because I’ve already dealt with too much. Most of the day was spent either looking at the clock on the scanner machine, looking at the wall, a 300 pound woman worker, or people old enough to of had dinosaurs for pets. It was VERY slow, yet consistent, and a very long day.

When the woman who was working with needed her 10th half hour break, I got to work with the only other man there and I started to feel good, because I work better with the men than with the women. Then 20 minutes later she comes back and gives a little attitude “I want that back if you don’t mind!” And I had to deal with her again for the rest of the shift. S~~~!

After lunch, I told the woman who rode my ass about the sandwich that you wouldn’t of liked it because they were damp and crushed and she being the bitch she is said “that’s because you wouldn’t let me have it!”

At 7 PM, I got up and said “POLLS CLOSED THANK GOD!”

When it came to cleaning up, it started off pretty annoying, because the 300 pound woman activated some s~~~ty music on her phone that looped every 15 seconds. I’m like if I’m going to listen to music, I’m going to get my iPod out and listen to KMFDM, because I won’t listen to that s~~~, which I toughened up and did. Most of the rest of the packing up was typical; put everything back where it belongs, one booth I struggled to get the cords tucked inside. But it was mostly the 2 guys (myself) that did the heavy lifting and loading while the women took care of the easy stuff — typical.

So that was my day Tuesday judging that election. As you can see I deal with women and old people who are total pain in the ass! I was nagged at for talking, nagged at for not providing a woman my sandwich, did most of the work while everyone else was taking break after break, getting attitude from these women and I spent most of that time either starring at a clock, a wall or a 300 pound landwhale judge and complaining in my head about what’s going on. Boy did it feel good to be home that night. I was starving to death and too tired to make myself a meal which I ended up making pasta shells and meat sauce. I spend most of yesterday recovering from it.

Thank god that’s over with until next March.

Well, what can one say? A perfect written description of a man’s day in the modern workplace.
