Anyone else like this show? Second season just started, one of the few network shows I’ll watch.

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?

Ya, it’s pretty good. I think it would be a lot better if the main character wasn’t such a complete basket case.

Finally a show depicts a geeky hacker type changing the world, and he has to be a schizophrenic and a heroine addict. Really? We can’t do better than that? Oh no, we can’t possibly depict a competent male who isn’t gay or evil.

That said, it is actually a really good show and I really respect the fact that when they show hackers doing their thing, they actually depict it with real hacker tools like a BASH terminal or Kali Linux instead of a bunch of made up bulls~~~.

That always p~~~ed me off to no end – when movies and shows are too lazy to walk down the hall and ask a real sysadmin what the screen would actually look like if someone was hacking or whatever. It shouws a total lack of respect for the people that put in a lot of long hours to make sure their s~~~ stays working.

This show at least gets that very right.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars and a hearty recommendation.

The thing is, real hacking doesn’t look glamorous, so they have to tart it up to keep it interesting for the zombie masses.

But I should look into this show, maybe it will be the next Breaking Bad?

Stealthy, I think TV is the guy who was trying to phone home.

For sure the heavy drug use was a bit overdone. Why not some weed and call it a day?

I do like the schizo angle, makes for a added level of drama.

The hackers reference was great. It was good to see there wasn’t any techno weeny wizardry with the actual hacking.

What do you think of the prison / mental ward theory for season 2? If you haven’t seen anything about it, the idea is that “your control is a illusion” is a reference to Elliot not acknowledging he’s in jail. The food in the same place with same guy (likely cell mate). The b-ball games at 2pm everyday. The bars everywhere, especially around his place. There’s more, worth a look at if you’re interested. I just hope they don’t string it along too long.
