Even with ‘Star Wars’ surge, moviegoing could hit 22-year low. Blame bad sequels, rising ticket prices and streaming

—–what is missed in the media’s blame here is the people are tired of the feminist socialist agenda being forced in our face. Of course the media newspaper is not going to see that.
Increasing ticket prices to combat decreasing movie goers is going to kill it even more.

My local movie theatre installed a bar and every seat is now a recliner.

I thought it was so awesome! Then found out 8$ Budlights and an infestation of bed-bugs on the new comfy chairs are not what I was expecting…

    Good.

This industry has become a disgusting creature: it must fall.

Anything and everything that slays Hollywood and its leftist propaganda machine is good.

These holier-than-thou celebrities can go straight to hell.

I must say that some of the starlets could make a good living as escorts though.

    Every movie is

    “Men bad – Women good”

    “Men bad – Women good”

    “Men bad – Women good”

    “Men bad – Women good”

    “Men bad – Women good”

Why would I waste my $$$ on this TRASH???

I’ll stay at home and watch pre-1980s movies, when s~~~ was less insane

I can’t believe people were still going to movies the past 5 years even. I thought everyone had switched to streaming at home, if they watched anything.

In the 80s and 90s there used to be arcades. I loved going to them. But then in the 2000s they pretty much all started to die off, and I don’t really know of any the past 10 or so years. Better home hardware and the internet made it obsolete. Especially since honestly the social aspect kind of sucked most of the time.

It’s safer and more comfortable being at home, rather than around strangers, most of whom are either women or inconsiderate and stupid men with those women.

And that’s not even getting into the content as others have too. Only so much feminist tripe even the average person can take. And that’s also the reason white women themselves voted for Trump over Hillary. You can’t just overdo it so badly that even the blue pill simps start catching on, which Hillary was doing and which this #metoo thing is doing. Women didn’t suddenly stop wanting their privileges, it’s in fact an attempt to save them.

The arcades where I grew up started failing in the early-mid 90s. The malls started to become shadows of what they once were. Especially when the big anchor stores pulled out.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

In related news, of all the movies I’ve seen lately, almost all the good ones seem to be coming out of China.

Just saw Black Coal, Thin Ice and holy f~~~ it was good.

Maybe there’s a connection there somewhere.

I just re-watched Hamburger Hill! One of the soldiers had his GF stop writing to him because the college she was going to said it was immoral, that kind of s~~~ happened back then when the liberal femtards started taking over education. It just goes to show how long this plague has been with us.

Exactly. A major reason is the SJW speeches in so many of these films not to mention how bad and boring they are.

To quote one of the top rating comments,

Your story doesn’t mention that maybe we don’t much care to be ‘entertained’ by people who think they are better than us, or think that we are racist or stupid, etc. etc. etc. by their constant political preaching. I don’t want to be browbeaten every time I watch TV, or a sporting event or a movie.

That and these new “all-woman” remakes like ‘Oceans 8’… I guess they would be somewhat intriguing but once you know it’s just some feminist attempt to rework great films, it loses all it’s luster. Hollywood/California isn’t even a top filming destination anymore with Canada, Louisiana and New Mexico offering better taxation rates, legal freedoms etc. Hollywood is going down, and this was before the industry ate itself with Harvey Weinstein. I look forward to the day California is bottom of the barrel for movie production!

The entertainment industry has long declared their allegiances and agendas. Vote with your dollars and empty theater seats.

Yes, Sidecar. I too have turned to Asia for my entertainment sources. I started to years ago. First it was “Cowboy Bebop” and other Anime. Now I’ve been loving “Journey to The West” and all things related to Monkey King. Good stuff. “Ip Man” movies were great action too.

As for Hollyweird…They did it themselves. I could have made better films as a teenager. I’m shocked they make as much money as they do pumping out nothing but s~~~ year after year.

Let them collapse, no bail out, J.J. Abrams deserves to be unemployed. They all do, bunch of talentless hacks.

Yeah I also tend to get my entertainment from Japan. They have a lot of it and it’s so accessible on the internet. I will say that most of it is still not good, but there are more that are good from Japan than I can find in the West. So when I need some fiction, and I don’t just want to read an older book, I’ll go for some manga, anime or read an LN.
