Hi all
I’m not a prolific poster; I do check the forums most days to get my dose of red pills though.
Anyway, I’m going to try to contribute a bit more, and maybe get things back on track by making some relevant posts.
We’ll see what happens. So, I haven’t seen any discussion about the Movember Foundation.
It is a charity that started here in Australia, but I believe it is world wide now.
It focuses on raising funds for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.
The main event is that during the month of November, you grow a moustache and have folk sponsor you for it.
Kinda silly, but it is promoted as a fun *masculine* way to increase awareness to important men’s issues.Anyway, Movember is almost here again…
I’ve supported this charity for a few years now, and am actually thinking of doing the moustache growing thing this year.
There’s like a thousand different charities for boob cancer, so I see this as trying to claw back some “equality”.Why no mention of Movember on this site?
Is it known that it is a scam of some type, and the money doesn’t go to where it’s intended?
Or is it simply that it is trying to “give a f~~~” in the face of people saying you shouldn’t?I personally believe the “no f~~~s given” approach only applies to things that you have absolutely no influence over and cannot change.
However, if we can change something for the better, we should be doing it.Just wondering what others thoughts are.
Cheers

I actually saw an ad for this ‘Movember’ movement above the urinals in a local bar, and had to Google it to find out more information.
I wish it great success.
Anything that betters a man’s health is a good thing and should be supported whether financially or morally.

It doesn’t get more blokey than that.
Urinals are probably the last “male only” space not to be taken over by women.
(Sadly, probably only a matter of time until does happen, not quite sure how that would work though)I used to do the Movember thing of stopping shaving, donations, etc. It received a poor reception from most and little financial impact. I ended up donating myself and needing a shave.
I may still do it and start over again this year, but I may just donate some extra to a mens health charity or just help a homeless guy.
No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.
