This is my opinion on refugees and poverty. Poverty CANNOT be completely eradicated, no matter how much money people donate to charitable causes. I myself use to be a World Vision sponsor for over 10 years and have stopped recently. Just take a look at India, for example. There are nearly 1.5 billion people there and the population is getting larger and larger and larger. Just take a look at a typical Indian train and you will see that it is FULLY PACKED….like people riding the roof packed! Apparently more than 27K+ Indians lost their lives in railway related incidents in 2014 alone.

Sure, helping poor people is a good cause, but what about the long term effects? I have been wrestling with this for a long time and can now see, in a way, that “helping” poor people can lead to even more problems in the future. When poor people are helped to achieve their basic human needs, i.e. food/water/clothes/medicine/etc, they then will most likely have even more children, thus further increasing the population, which in turn leads back to square one.

The reason why there is so much poverty, is because of resources being overloaded. It is incredibly selfish to have kids in such a state of poverty. The kids suffer and the community suffers. The lack of contraception is NOT an excuse for overpopulation. If it is not on , IT IS NOT ON!

@mgtow_mike Exactly. You have to be smart about it. Imagine if a paramedic just ran right into the middle of a gunfight to attend to the wounded; she would almost certainly become another casualty – a burden instead of an aid.

That is what reckless humanitarian policy does to nations. We need to accept that we can’t help everybody.

I don’t understand why it’s such a difficult concept for some people to grasp… If you don’t have enough resources, and you have too many people, then people are going to be poor and destitute. That is why it is important to keep the economy strong and the population stable by trimming the fat.

The Greek minister of interior affairs, actually admitted that the last few months, those who come illegaly in the islands of Lesbos, Chios and Samos, are not Syrian or Iraqi refugees, but immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and from sub-saharian Africa. Take also a look at what happens in Sicily.

These men (9 out of 10 are adult men, not women and children), are not refugees or whatsoever. MSM, politicans and NGOs are using the word “refugees” just to silence people with a different opinion. Sad!

You and others give money to India so the Indian government can abuse that generosity by diverting needy spending on the poor to spend 1 Billion Dollars a year on a space programme …erm.
