I’ve heard a number of women say this over the years, even women who were supposedly quite keen Christians: that monks are “selfish”. (They’re talking about actual religious monks, but I’m sure they’d say the same about non-religious MGTOW monks.)

A female client of mine made the same point to me the other day, saying that monks go against the “true spirit of Christianity”. Monk shaming now, are we?

Regardless of what your religious views are, I think this is telling. Women hate it when you don’t play their game, don’t chase pussy, don’t have babies, don’t fund their lives for them. And their favourite tactic for dealing with what they don’t like is appealing to men’s sense of honour, to guilt-trip them. If a man does something for himself, he’s “selfish”. My ex wife even tried to guilt trip me if I helped people other than her: “why do they all matter to you more than me?”, she used to whine like a spoilt child.

I know what that client meant about the “true spirit of Christianity”: she thinks it’s tending to the poor and needy. In other words, to women and their kids.

I have news for you, ladies: there’s more to life than you, and there’s more to Christianity than running soup kitchens (noble though that may be). Some of us men just aren’t interested in you. Christian monasticism is above all about giving glory to God, and non-religious MGTOW monasticism is about men being free and living fulfilling lives. None of that involves you.

There aren't holes in your pockets. It's called marriage.

O.K. When a woman’s opinion matters to me, I will ask for it.

Christian monks in particular are known for intentionally living modestly. How the hell is it selfish to have limited personal property?

Then they must really hate convents and cloisters as well. Did they go off on how these removed groups of nuns are so selfish, too? Of course not.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

We are all selfish in some way or other. All creatures are. Monks are making a non conventional choice in their selfishness that is all.

Having children is selfish too (though it certainly teaches you to be kind).

Women are generally considerably more selfish than men anyway so really they should not comment.

A woman is like fire -fun to play with, can warm you through and cook your food, needs constant feeding, can burn you and consume all you own

I have told many a woman who was chasing me “My goal in life was to marry, quit my job and have my wife support me.”

Selfish bitches run from me like their hair was on fire

That sounds like a fun conversation.

So how do you feel about a woman who chooses to pursue a career instead of raising a family?

That’s demonstrating to other women that a woman can be strong an independent. She’s an inspiration to other women.

So a successful single man can’t be an inspiration to other men? They don’t show that you can be happy and successful without a woman?

    That’s sexist!

    ok

    Ok. Then do it.

    Boo hoo! What a shame!

I have told many a woman who was chasing me “My goal in life was to marry, quit my job, and have my wife support me.”

Selfish bitches run from me like their hair was on fire.

For a laugh, I sometimes say that my aim in life is to be a kept man, as you have said. That quickly shuts them up and puts them off. Job done!

Monks that a part of an order usually take a vow of poverty—so the c~~~ doesn’t know what she’s talking about—big surprise.

Some rug-munchers might, although that said, I don’t see much in the way of resources to be had if those women were in circulation.

Jesus was an individualist (MGTOW = focus on your inner character in order to bring you inner peace), not a collectivist (feminist = always act in favor of the group a.k.a women, regardless of your inner state)

Women play with the lives of others.

Monks play with their own lives.

    Spot the difference.
