Now, I’ve made some leaps at work, and am now making pretty good money but I thought I’d share something. When I go to work, I like it. I really like the job I do, and I like the money. I guess it’s okay if you work a job you hate if it pays well, but if you can live within your means and happily, why would you work a job you hate? Work is work, but I highly value not being miserable at work and I’ve had some pretty s~~~ty jobs.

I wouldn’t say money buys happiness, but it can buy you the things that you want in life, and more importantly it gives you freedom from a lot of bulls~~~. As of now, I like my job and that’s very important to me. I guess I might be drifting toward the monk side of things or at least the mindset. I’m not saying it has to be your dream job, but be happy fellas. You only have so much time. Life’s too short to work a s~~~ty job, drink s~~~ty beer, or have a s~~~ty time.

Yep. I’d much prefer to being paid less than inflicting suffering upon myself for any amount of money.

    Attachments only lead to suffering.

I try to make as much money as I can, but don’t consume. I can move with just what fits in my car.

Attachments to work are indeed dangerous, I know fully well, that I have gotten my vision clouded by it at my own job, after several years in it, it’s hard to leave it behind, and go for something else. Yet I value my time enough to have no problem saying no to going in on my day off, and luckily know I can fully reject any order to come in on a planned day off, so I can give zero f~~~s by those, the ordering haven’t happened in years though, but feel it could happen soonish though, which makes me go on edge a bit, ready to decline in an instant.

I do my work, better than average, been years since I’ve had sick leave. If someone steps on my toes, I call them out on it, right away, I’m not going to let someone attempt to push me around, I know the possible backlash, if they complain, I could care less, some times I wouldn’t mind getting those severance benefits, since by now they are really beefy.

Free time is the most important one, as soon you got enough money for your stuff, and savings.

This is perhaps also why I’m looking into a smaller flat, for cheaper, so I can pressure a lower work time, or to prepare freelance stuff a little sooner.

    I agree with you.

This is how i live in my daily life.

Money is important, but i will not be the slave of it.
Happiness is important, but i will remember that it is just a temporal feelings, either is loneliness and sadness.

I will search for money to live, but i will not forget my happiness.
I will search for happiness to enjoy living, but i will not forget my responsibility to myself.

    Just my principle.

Never get “involved” at work. Your a cog in a wheel. You may feel important to the operation but you are fully replaceable. Work never cares about you. They try to give you that impression to get more work out of you.

I’m young but money really don’t matter to me much maybe when I get old. I personally can live of $1600 a month and very happy in life.

Because in order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.
