Hey guys …
I think about Utopian worlds and cultures, and always have. I know Utopias cannot exist, have never and will never exit. Utopias provide “role models” for cultures. A culture can aspire to a Utopian standard, knowing the best it can do is approach Utopia.
Truth is a lot like Utopia: a person or society may aspire to Truth (in whatever form that makes sense). Aristotle said (paraphrasing) “everyone knows a piece of the truth, and no one knows all of the truth”. Ain’t THAT the truth?
I’m starting this topic to see what mgtows “would like to see” in our culture. In other words, do each of us have a Utopia in mind? What would yours look like? What training and guidance would we give to young boys as they become men? How do we manage our natural desires, both sexual and protective, while being MGTOW
I’ll start the discussion with a sketch of my own views, and invite others to add their own. Are we all striving for the same thing, or are our views as varied as are?
MY VIEW OF UTOPIA …
Which can never come true. :-). No Utopia can. But, what would make mens’ collective journey easier?First – Marriage would be a written contract. There’d be no expectation that marriage is for life. All separation terms are laid out beforehand, including disposition of the kids. If you can’t agree about the kids-to-be THEN, why would you be able to agree in the midst of a bitter battle?
Once the term of the marriage is up, both parties may re-up, if they choose, either under the same rules, or others which would suit them better.
Marriage and subsequent divorce is only evil NOW, under feminism. I do not think marriage is inherently evil.
Personally, I’d never live with a woman, no matter what! That’s my biggest beef about marriage: a woman invading my space. No thank you! I have never lived with a woman, have never wanted to, am not married, and have no kids. I did have a 23 year relationship with a woman who had her own house. That worked – until it didn’t. I could get out of it “clean”, since we were not even common law married. We lived apart. We were boyfriend-girlfriend the whole time.
Second – boys need training and guidance at a young age. We need educated young men who are not emotional idiots, as we all were. I know I was. I still am, actually, but now I can hold my own, mostly. ๐ In an ideal world, we’d have s[ecial training for boys about what growing up to be men entails. Look what such training did for young girls – they excelled. Boys need encouragement, and more importantly, GUIDANCE in helping them navigate the world.
Boys need training in life philosophy, money, sex and work. As a culture, we do little for each boy, other than prepare him to pay taxes, and to provide for a woman. In Utopia, boys would learn about the real world before they enter it, as much as a school can teach. At least they wouldn’t be caught unaware.
Third – Gender-specific spaces and institutions would not only be legal and allowed, but encouraged! Men-only and women-only places would not evoke law suits and require therapy.
Fourth and finally – There would always be a winner and a loser in any lawsuit, including false accusations. If an accusation was levied – let’s just use RAPE as an example for I don’t know what reasons ๐ – and through the courts, it is shown to be a false accusation, the ACCUSER receives the sentence rather than the accused. Someone will win, and someone will lose.
I am not saying this is a complete list of Utopian Points, or that any of this is feasible. I am just thinking of Scenes I’d Like To See in life’s Movie. This is the Philosophy forum, after all.
What’s on your mind about Utopia?
Galt’s Gulch.
โWe are on strike, we, the men of the mind. We are on strike against self-immolation. We are on strike against the creed of unearned rewards and unrewarded duties. We are on strike against the dogma that the pursuit of one's happiness is evil. We are on strike against the doctrine that life is guilt.โ
Galtโs Gulch.
Classic, Atlas! My MOM, of all people, indoctrinated me into Ayn Rand.
I like Colorado. I’d live and contribute in Galt’s Gulch.
Anonymous12A utopia would be a place where everyone shares the same culture and basic beliefs. Where these beliefs remain in place and the leaders of said utopia don’t play stupid games by changing said rules.
Also any subversive groups are put down before they can leak their venom on the utopian society.
