Another one of the false beliefs we are fed by our culture and media is that you need a lot of friends and contact with other people. I don’t have the report that I read online recently, but the gist of it was the more intelligent you were, the FEWER friends that you had. That might relate to your being more busy or more intelligent about who you want as a friend.

Moreover, the ability to be alone with yourself, not seeking or needing the approval or disapproval of others is a mark of emotional maturity. It shows you have learned to be self-reliant and can stand on your own feet without having to depend on others.

Ideally I’d live alone on an uninhabited planet or asteroid base tended by an army of robot servants.

Ideally it’d have automated defenses, so if any dumb primates came with 100,000 miles they’d be vaporized.

I remember a novel. There was a man who lived alone on an uninhabited planet. Being bored by years of loneliness he made the chess which was robots set on a huge chess desk mapped on the surface of the planet. So if guests wanted to come for a visit, they were forced pass through the desk first. In fact, it was chess game to death.

I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t f~~~ing stand people. I work in retail, most of the time I’m unfriendly and I get s~~~ for it, but when I try to socialize, people act like dicks to me. I wish I didn’t have to be around people at all.
