I live quite well on less than $50k a year now, and as an added bonus I only have about 1/4 the taxes/fees deducted compared to what I paid when I was working myself to death.
Ironically the more money I made, the less I actually had for myself as my deduction rate got higher.
Unless I wanted to live in “poverty” and do without a lot of things, my retirement investing was limited.
As it sits now I’m doing quite well for a partially disable old grumpy f~~~er, and loving it.
