This is my first Xmas on my own in many, many years. Gotta admit that I was a bit intimidated by the prospect of spending it alone once my break from work kicked in a few days ago. Now, however, I have found out that just like any other day. I lead a peaceful, fortunate existence.

It’s my cat and I today. I bought a couple of bottles of good wine and will order a pizza later on. This year, after traveling a lot, I gave the middle finger to airports, crying babies and being tired all the time cause of traveling and decided to sit at home, play video games, read, and troll the web. I have also been hanging out with buddies from work and other friends I made here and it’s been a blast.

Didn’t think it’d be this pleasant, to be honest. I could have been in so many places west coast, east coast, abroad, with friends and family but I chose to rest after what, at some point, felt like an endless year.

How you guys doing today on your own? You guys spending today alone at home alone or with family and/or friends?

Also, merry Xmas! Love y’all guys.

Amen. This is what it is all about! Just enjoy life.

It’s my cat and I today.

Same. Just me and my cat alone today as well! I have a tuxedo cat. HBU? He’s howling at me to let him get some outdoor time right now haha.

Alone with my cat too. And I’m having a blast.

    I love being alone!

I was talking to a couple mangina simps at work yesterday. The one guy was complaining about his wives out of control spending. He told me he spent $2500 on gifts so far!!!

Hahaha I laughed and said I spent $0!

The look I got was priceless. Then the one mangina started talking about how he had to spend a xmas alone one year and how depressing it was.

I was like yea, peace and quiet sucks. These white knights are like little boys who need their mommy around at all times.

    F~~~ that s~~~!

    airports, crying babies

I think god hates me; i always get the screaming baby seat. Once it was on a flight for 12 hours, and there were 3 of them. I was about to take my chances at 35,000 feet w/no parachute lol.

On a more serious note – i was a bit intimidated at my first Tgiving/xmas going it solo last year, but it’s surprisingly peaceful & very refreshing. This year I’ll spend it putting in a bit extra time at the gym in the morning, strolling through Chinatown looking for a good HotPot place for lunch, coffee with a great book, maybe kill some bad guys in Gears of War 3. What book are you reading / game are you playing?

A lot of people seem to think that spending the holidays solo is the absolute worst thing that can happen to a person; but to me, the idea of sending every decision to committee about what/when to eat, whose house to go to, why did Susie spend $5 more on Jodi’s present than mine etc etc. I guess some people just need the drama, but i’m more than happy to go without.

Having said all that – men, i’m going to crank the Led Zeppelin loud & toast you all a very rock n roll xmas. Salut!

I LOVE hearing mangina stories. $2,500!? Holy s~~~! All this for a wife who will quickly forget about it and start demeaning him soon.

He could put that money to so much better use. A top of the line gaming PC, a new TV. Or If he invested that $2.5K this year, and added $2.5K every Xmas, he’d have $42,000 in just ten years!

Peace and quiet is SO underrated. I love Peace and Quiet.

I love your plan man. I’m going to treat myself tomorrow.

I’m planning on waking up and getting hot chocolate from Dunkin (my favorite beverage), then getting myself a nice lunch from my favorite restaurant, watch Elf (or maybe the entire Rush Hour Trilogy), play some World of Warcraft, and get through this book I am reading right now. It’s called “The Wealthiest Man in Babylon” and it’s full of sound principles that you need to become financially independent. I love learning and exploring, and this book just makes me even more excited about my future.

Happy Christmas, JeffersonianLiberal! I have found Xmas on my own to be peaceful and surprisingly chilled. No family to stress over, no significant other to be nagged by, plenty of friends online to chat to, should you want. A glass of wine, a good movie, pizza, xbox, whatever I want.

So enjoy whatever it is you get up to, and know that there are others just like you.

    Quietly.

Yes indeed my friend! It’s nice to enjoy Xmas as it is without all the BS that the social programming makes it out to be. I am very happy that I decided to stay home in the end. Been listening to Leonard Cohen and Belled and Sebastian all day long, chilling… I even exercised today early in the morning!

Same. Just me and my cat alone today as well! I have a tuxedo cat. HBU? He’s howling at me to let him get some outdoor time right now haha.

Sounds like a handsome cat. Mine is a Bengal, and I love the MOFO!

Enjoy your day, brother! Merry Xmas.

F~~~ the crying babies, seriously man. Done with that s~~~ for at least until June…

I went to the gym today as well, practiced some hoops, ran a little bit, skipped the rope, then came back home and did a bit of weight lifting.

I was afraid as well, but you know what? It’s not bad AT all. Quite the opposite. I could have been in many places with friends/family, there were offers, but I was just tired of traveling. And I’m finding that staying here is quite peaceful…

As for Xmas shopping, I recently purchased a PS4, a Yamaha sound bar to improve my gamin and movie watching experience and OH MAN! I’d recommend you to look into one of those babies if you spend a lot of time playing games or watching movies. Also purchased a Kindle Reader that I use mostly to read books on philosophy. Completed “Beyond good and evil” on it… Bought a couple of gifts for friends which I shipped and that was it.

As for games, been playing Bloodborne and I’m looking forward to revisit Krzystoff Kieslowski’s filmography again now that I have my badass sound bar.

I used to think that way when I was still brainwashed. Last time I spent Xmas alone was like 7 years ago, and now that I think about it wasn’t that bad. But being married for a while I got used to always have company coming Xmas. Not anymore. These days it’s my cat and I, and trust me… it’s peaceful.

    Life is beautiful bro.

    Merry Xmas!

I’m kicking it solo today. Pretty normal for Xmas eve. Big snow day, so I don’t feel like driving anywhere. I spend most of my time by myself, so no big deal. I’m good company.
I was ready to stay home tomorrow too, but my grand-nephew (8yo) called up to invite me to their house. He’s my little buddy (named after me) and would be disappointed if I didn’t show. I even got him a new canteen for Cub Scouts, the only present I am giving this year.
Xmas has no religious meaning to me, since I don’t do the deity thing, but I don’t mind hanging with some family.

No offence but if a man does not believe in personal fairies its hard to take any serious interest on days like that.
I never feel alone, alienated or any other negative emotions. It’s just another day to work, play or f~~~ around as I please.

Christmas hasn’t really been part of my life for a few years. Although this year I’m going to do some xmas dinner with some friends and what not. Haven’t really had a conventional xmas for quite some time.

This is the quietest and non Christmas-y Christmas I’ve ever had, still being estranged to my dad, It’s just me, my mum and my cat… and honestly I don’t really mind all that much, we still got a turkey and tons to eat, a few presents too.

I’m working 9 hours on Boxing day having been unemployed for a couple months so everything will go straight back to normal once Xmas day is over. When I eventually move out I doubt I’ll ever have an issue being completely alone either… more turkey for me.

    Merry Christmas gentlemen.
Hope everyone here has an awesome Holiday season.

I plan to spend some quality time on the lazy boy playing video games. Followed by some bike work and then reading.

    Isn’t peace and quiet great?

    Thanks
