Atlanta? Oh boy! That’s just down the road! I’ll bring my Martin and we’ll kick out some jams. I’ll look up some fish farms, too. You ever had a fish fry with catfish & grits? Plan to put on a little weight while you’re here.

Anonymous6Happy travels Greg!
Excited for you Greg. And you know damn well you’re gonna meet some good men while traveling. Safe journey.

M52’s is ready too!
RE: Joetech
I was going to suggest Greg bypass Gainesville and Atlanta. Esp. Atlanta due to the traffic. I was going to suggest 441 Lake City to Anderson SC. Are you close to that route?
Thanks for all your good wishes. And Pete, and Joe, I will mail and call you.
Don’t want to put specific dates on here as distance may delay me or unforseen problems put in my path.
Still can’t beleive this is actually happening. Feeling a mixture of dread and excitement.
This has to happen. The alternative is a dull safe existence.

Relax man its all cool.

Anonymous42Nobody likes to visit Massachusetts, I’m surrounded by New York and Canada with a hand full of other stranded and isolated states.
With New York to one side and Canada to the North, that leaves the Atlantic Ocean as the only viable port of entry and most people don’t have boats.
They call us New England because like England we’re an isolated island of clan states, Maine is extra f~~~ed, way up there sticking into Canada like a big dick, a choad to be more precise…

If this goes well I will return and do more mid and northern states. That way I can hop over to Canada and see Jacque and M52 as well. It all depends how this goes, It will be a learning curve for me, but if I can hack I know I’ll want to do it again.
I wouldn’t rule Massachusetts out at all. That’s if you want to see my ugly mug in your state of course.

You may not make it through the NY State Gauntlet, revenue is down and the counties need more prison labor, the real devils triangle is between Manhattan, Albany, and Buffalo.

You know, in all this planning and dreaming, the one thing that’s put me off is the amount of (well intended), warnings about the dangers of life for the unwary in the states. Sometimes it reads like there’s a war going on out there. I mean, I don’t know s~~~ so I’m pretty vulnerable to attack while there. Then again, I’m not saying it’s completely safe here either, although if someone’s gonna do you harm it’s close up as few balistic weapons available.
I know I’m an idealist, but I really do want to beleive that there are more decent people around than scumbags. The other day I had a dodgy looking guy ask me for directions, and he was way off his destination. I’d just driven 160 miles, another 10 wouldn’t make any difference. So I offered him a lift in my car to where he wanted to go.
He was talking in the car about how he recently got outta’ jail and no one gives him a break. I just saw a guy who needed help and he wasn’t going to get it from anyone quick. He was fine, no problems and grateful for help.
Stupid of me I know, but it was my good deed for the day.
I’m definately going to get mugged or shot aren’t I?
Thing is, I really don’t give a f~~~. What will be will be.
Life isn’t going to knock on my door. I’ve got to go out and find it. And that involves risk.

If he’d just gotten out of jail for non support, that doesn’t make him a criminal…just broke.

Dudes I used to really like spending some time in the Ole Bay State. The places I went to were off the usual list of items. Many free Wednesdays at the MFA. I could spend the evening all in one room. Anyone ever been to The DeCordova Museum with it’s excellent outdoor sculpture area? Wicked cool. I think I remember it being in or around Concord. Could be mistaken. When it was time for friends hitting the awful ass clubs they liked, I was off on walking tours. The Gardner with a book for a lunch break that could turn into all day learning and looking. Self-employment. As long as I kicked ass, I got to take my kind of breaks. Loved the feeling of popping off Storrow Drive at Arlington St. and bam, it is all right there in front of you. You gotta pump your fist in the air when you say “Monotomy Rocks”. Like a band name. Old joke. Good times, but not an easy place do do on the cheap. Like anywhere else, it depends on who you choose to associate with. Many memorable Massholes too. Available on any roadway.
