I don’t think I would need to retell the story/synopsis of both the original and remake (and I haven’t watched the 2016 one). In short:

A standalone Hitman, living his life with his own rules. This is the particular scene (and quote) I would like to share. If a slower-paced classic action movie draws your attention, I definitely recommend watching it. Charles Bronson alone is cool as hell.

Steve McKenna: You do this for money?
Arthur Bishop: Money is paid, but that’s not the motive. It has to do with standing outside of it all, on your own.

I liked both the original and the remake. I plan to see the latest (2016) when the DVD arrives at a RedBox near me.

Between the Charles Bronson and Jason Statham remake, I find it hard to choose. I like them both. I am a big fan of both actors and have seen just about every flick they have made.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Back when they knew how to make action movies and not rely on special FX and over blown violence. Now it’s just cliched PC acting with an ‘inclusive’ cast.

    F~~~ remakes!

Robert DeNiro in Taxi Driver is one of my Favs, while not exactly MGTOW,his character does go his own way and does it his way.

Robert Redford in Jeremiah Johnson is another who plays a Union soldier sick of war and city life so decides to become a mountain man. He is briefly mated with a Native but mostly the movie is about men in the wild.

Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper In Easy Rider has to be one of the best biker movies ever made. A couple of
riders going their own way and having a lot of fun on the journey.

Lifes a bitch, but you don't have to marry one!

True. But yeh, had to share as I enjoyed the themes of both movies.

Even in some of today’s movies I applaud the work of stuntman (or actors like Tom Cruise who can do stuff themselves). And in old it’s still great. I really enjoyed chases/stunts in Ronin (1998) and Death Proof (2007).

What I also enjoy is longer/wider takes on scenes, I can appreciate the action/stunts/setting.
I barely can watch new James Bond movies with all the Quick-CLOSE-UP-CUTS-SHAKY-CAM-s~~~ that’s going on. Yes, it gives a sense of speed but is barely watchable for me and all the stunt work footage seems wasted.

I never could understand the ending of this movie.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
