Now that the demand is rising and MGTOW is going global perhaps we should consider allowing discussions in other languages.

What do you guys and girls think about this?

If you don't understand my post at first, no worries, it's probably my English. 😉

in japan it is called herbivore men

MGTOW is not a movement, it is a way of life.

    In Japanese, it’s supposedly:

Dokuji no hōhō o iku dansei

I used Google Translate. So I’m not sure if it’s entirely accurate or not.

It’s not necessarily a bad thing that there are different MGTOW communities. I’m sure they can handle setting up their own places for people that speak their own language.

In Dutch it would be called “Mannen die hun eigen weg gaan”, literally translated but switching the words around a little to make it a good sentence, but I’ve never heard anyone saying that, just MGTOW.

edit: hah, and now I see this thread is created by Dutchie 😀

2+ times the languages would mean 2+ times the work and problems for KM. Let’s just wish the non-English speaker mgtow luck in establishing their own communities like Rennie mentioned.

India was mentioned in an earlier post, but English is there official language. As an Indian acquantiance of mine put it to me “English is one of the only good things the English gave us”. Apparently India doesn’t natively have a common language so English is the only thing that allows them to communicate to each other if they are not from the same part of India.

It’s good to have diversity in the MGTOW ecosystem and this site needs to avoid mission creep as well, or else it’s going to become too much to look after.

If you check Google Trends, most of the search come from English speaking places.

Anyone who is fluent in another language ?

    -Jawoll-

Me (as some of you might well know by now).

So I guess I (or Hollowmile or both of us) could well help out in a neat way to say at least translate the part of the glossary of this site into German and maybe even one or the other menu points and buttons (since these are essentially at the heart of the site), because what I’ve observed the simple google translation especially for those few components could do with a bit of improvements, well if that could possibly be applied that is, I dunno.

I mean in theory can google translate actually be somewhat edited or if so how could this be done technically in practise or with regards to the structure of our forum…?

(This actual question would go straight out to the tech guys pulling their weight behind the stage as well as of course Keymaster himself)

Anyway I was in fact thinking about this whole issue a few times before in my time…

PPS.: Let me give you a fitting example here of what I am talking about (ie. menu points): when I switch to German the “About” menu point turns into “Etwa” which in this context is an utter wrong translation and hence doesn’t make any sense. Yes it can mean “etwa” in conjunction with a number but in this case in German it should much rather be either read “Über” or say “Informationen zu” or shorter “Infos zu”. Another such example would be the translation of the third menu point from the top underneath “Archives” –> “Watch” which is wrongly been translated as “Uhr” (as in wrist watch) rather then into “to watch” which is “ansehen” or “zum Ansehen”.
So now this is just two out of quite a few others.

I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Back to the plantation..? Me..? Hey, literally: I won't ever fucking kid myself...YZERLMNTSIC

The website is international and translates using the “LANGUAGES” drop down (at the top). Visit the homepage and select Japanese. It’s freaky cool.

It’s not perfect (and it’s Google’s interpretation), but we were thinking about multi-language forums and realized the moderation would be crazy. But doing it this way, you can post in your own language and anyone can translate it on-the-fly.

So you can post in German, I can post in French, another can post in Spanish and we can all basically understand by switching the language to either.

Some is lost in translation but then again, so are all typed words. For example “ge¡mĂźt¡lich” is a word that made it’s way in English…..because it just can’t be translated. It’s German for cozy/comfortable/nice – like a wrapped baby. You might say it when you have a blanket around you sitting by the fire.

But otherwise the general jist can be gotten here by the languages menu.
It’s not great, but it will have to do.

    Italy here.
My English sucks compared to my Italian, obiouvsly…since I even published two books in Italian (non-fiction, History).
I can also speak Swedish, but it’s probably even worse than my English.

    My English sucks

🙂 I have news for you…. your English doesn’t “suck”.

I’m always amazed by some of the foreign guys who make an intro and start off APOLOGIZING for their “bad English” and then they drop 4 paragraphs of pretty perfect prose. I have encountered many different types online, and recently a WOMAN thought she was correcting my English.

    “It’s YOU’RE …… not YOUR”.

    That’s an American female.

I know it is “you’re”, but bitch is so narrow-minded, she can’t even FATHOM that English isn’t even my first language. She just assumes I’m an illiterate moron, until I ask “Oh I’m so sorry, how do you say that in German or French?”. Then she looks all shocked like it never even occurred to her.

This actually happened to me in Germany. For the most part, I speak with NO detectible accent. But I will make a grammatical error when speaking – which is WORSE because it sounds to others like I don’t even know “the fork” is feminine. A 3 year old knows this. So one day I made a stupid mistake like that (in DĂźsseldorf), and a woman started laughing. I said in English “Oh I’m sorry, how would YOU say that in English?” She just about fell over, because otherwise I SOUNDED just like a German — and I wasn’t even born there.

In fact, I just made a typo in my previous comment ^^^ and spelled “gist” wrong – and make little errors like that all the time. There isn’t ONE man in 15,000 who has ever corrected my typing, and I catch the mistakes myself.

Lauder, you’re doing JUST fine, my friend.

I’ve always hated that about women thinking they’re “smart” for correcting grammar and spelling errors. Especially when they themselves never use punctuation correctly.

I type about 75-90WPM and sometimes I type a word twice or make errors with my spellings. I used to always type “like” like “leik” for example.

Whenever they correct me on my s~~~, I just tell them “before correcting my mistakes, why don’t you use proper punctuation?”

They always come back with a snide comment and the convo ends right there.

I’ve always hated that about women thinking they’re “smart” for correcting grammar and spelling errors.

It makes them look stupid, because they can’t argue THE POINT, so they use petty tactics to deflect away from it… and there are more than 50 English speaking countries. But in HER mind you couldn’t possibly be from Rome or Prague – places she’s never been to and can’t even point to on a map.

    You’re a moron who can’t even spell “you’re”.

It’s all a fraud pretense in an attempt to cover up how intellectually TINY she is.

Especially when they themselves never use punctuation correctly.

    No kidding.

idk lol wut brb afk holla bak lolz!

    That’s her intellectual capacity.

These are the kinds of America chicks who will “correct your typing”.

    Those videos… I.. I can’t even.

And KM, don’t feel bad about the whole Deutsche bit. Man, I’ve been here for a year and I am finding it incredibly difficult to adapt to the local language. The Umlauts throw my tongue for a loop, and the fact that inanimate objects can be gender based is other worldly. Add that to the fact even some terms like “Der Madchen” can be technically neuter, while referring to an obvious gender based object is.. just gd confusing.
Of course I’m sure you know all this… hats off to anyone that can effectively communicate in more than one language. I’m thoroughly impressed.

Funny, isn't it? How women thrive on a mans time, attention and resources, while simultaneously telling him he isn't enough...

That’s awesome- what’s your specialization in history?

On the topic: In Russia MGTOW probably wouldn’t get much traction just yet. They need another decade or two to get up the speed with spread of toxic poison of unhinged female nature. Apparently without fluoride in the water and hormone mimickers in the food supply – it’s hard to emasculate men, vast majority of which still have spines and b~~~~, especially people with power and money. They still have some standards, so female supremacist ideas won’t get you anywhere with quality men back there. Because of that – females there still have to compete with each other for those men using traits that men desire – faithfulness, nurturing, supportiveness, obedience, beauty, health. Women still look at men as a long term meal ticket, not as a 3-5 year contract.
But maybe I’m wrong – I haven’t been there personally to witness the state of men, so it’s all hearsay.

As far as Lithuanian bitches go – they’re some toxic and frigid bitches on average. MGTOW Lithuanian chapter I bet could get some traction. I wouldn’t be surprised if it already exists. Lithuania is also the world leader in male suicides. But since I’m not an ethnic Lithuanian, my written Lithuanian sucks b~~~~. My russian cousin married this lithuanian school teacher and they had boy twins. The bitch divorced him and didn’t let him see them until some time recently when they were already 11 yo.
I’ll be going to Lithuania for one or two month soon, so I’ll do some first hand research

Funny you mention. It’s “das” Mädchen – which is neuter.
Never really thought about that until now.

But don’t think Germans don’t have a hard time with English. Sure, everything is a “the”…. but try and teach a German the difference between “herd”, “heard” and “heart”, and they will want English to go f~~~ itself.

Hats off to anyone that can effectively communicate in more than one language. I’m thoroughly impressed.

It takes a man to say that.

Even when a woman is corrected and realizes you speak 5 languages to her 1 …. she’ll never withdraw the comment, apologize or admire you for it. She just slithers away.

    just gd confusing.

Here’s a useful tip. The Germans admit it’s confusing – even to them. There’s a convenient expression you can use when you get badgered about grammar:

“Der, Den, Dir, Dich…… wie es richtig geht weiss Ich nicht”.

    Which is like saying:

“He, you, she or it… I just can’t make sense of it.”.

Even THEY don’t get it right.
