I came across this general “how to” video aimed mostly at young men, and I wasn’t sure if anyone here had seen it.

It is from TheOakshard youtube channel.  Perhaps a candidate for content in the MGTOW 101 project Keymaster?  So here it is:

Well Hollomile, I’ve just been thinking about it for a little while, having just watched the video and focused on the very point in the video you referred to and listened to the expression you were referring to a few times over.

It’s not D I Y or D U Y but I guess he was talking about D U I, which I would decipher as driving under influence (as in under alcohol and/or drugs) the money sink / drain here being the fees you’re being fined to pay if caught. From what I’ve heard, apparently they are especially high in America by contrast to Europe ie. Germany for that matter so there you have it. I hope that’ll help for the final clarifications. You’re welcome bro. My first thought was also D U Y and I quite quickly grasped why you said you didn’t get it acoustically or rather pronunciation wise but then I thought: D U Y as an abreviation wouldn’t make any sense but D U I would. The “drive under” part at this point was already quite clear to me and then well…   … I like to keep my analytical thinking sharp from time to time and I guess that’s what we all MGTOWs should strive to do again and again on a daily basis …

Sounded like DUI to me, and the car keys and handcuffs image hints to that.  Driving Under Influence.  The cops use that term here in Canada, and I think the USA also.  Huge fines and a criminal record. Thanks to MADD.  Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

I haven’t seen the video yet but in the US DUI is Driving Under the Influence. Fines vary from state to state but are universally high. There’s also court costs,  probation fees, etc. which just about doubles the fine. In my state look at about US $1,500 if you don’t hire a lawyer. For a lawyer add US $5000.

People associate DUI/DWI with automobiles and alcohol. Think again: automobile, aircraft, ship, watercraft, “OR ANY OTHER MEANS OF CONVEYANCE.” Yes, you can get a DUI on a bicycle and a horse (I’ve seen both). A skateboard would be pushing it but you never know.

And it not only covers alcohol but illegal AND LEGAL drugs, even medication sold without a prescription. That allergy or sinus medication making you drowsy? Better not drive.

As a law enforcement officer on and off since 1979 I’ve seen the results of impaired driving and have cut bodies out of crashed automobiles. Having said that DUI laws have gone way too far. 0.08% is absurd and there are buffoons who are now pushing for 0.05%!
