I’ve known since I was a teen ager that I am a target. As soon as I realized what I could produce, and what was expected of me to give to women, I understood I was a target worthy of attack if I didn’t cooperate.
The broadest definition of mgtow would include any man who chooses not to sign a marriage contract for any reason. Gays, monks, workaholics, paupers, visionaries… all kinds of men choosing not to sign a marriage contract for all kinds of different reasons. It would be difficult to identify any individual one of us as mgtow without that individual providing assistance by identifying himself as a mgtow.
Since everyone here is anonymous, for all anybody knows, this whole site could be just 1 or 2 guys blazing away on keyboards pretending to be several thousand different people. Hard to attack a target that is that difficult to define. Realistically, this is just conversations between anonymous guys who have in common the decision not to sign that marriage contract, for whatever reason. How do you attack that?
How do you attack one individual’s decision about what is the best way to live his own life? How do you attack another individual agreeing with that decision?
There is no group structure, no officers, no membership list. Each man here has his own decision, and his own reasons. I think the best any attacker could do is to try to shame us one at a time whenever they stumble across one of us in the world, and then only if we help them by self-identifying.
When I am occasionally asked why I am not married, usually by some prying woman, I have a variety of different vague, noncommittal answers. But none of them involve any reference to the word “mgtow”. My most useful go-to answer is usually something like, “Tried it… ‘didn’t work out…”, and then trail off into silence as though it is some terrible wound on my soul from which I haven’t and can’t recover.
That ends that line of questions. I think the reason it ends that line so well is that it conveys the message that I am not qualified to be ‘the disposable male’… because I have already been ‘disposed of’… I think they assume that I was so financially destroyed by that experience that I am no longer worth having. Reality is that I got divorced at the beginning of my career before I had anything to take, and I got divorced because as soon as my career took off, my ex stopped working and flopped down on her ass expecting me to finance her entire existence for the rest of her life. I got divorced to effectively give myself a pay raise of my own money.
I don’t have an ego that prevents me from letting a woman think she, or some other woman has ‘won’. I’m happy to let them think they won. If I achieve every one of my goals of personal health, wealth, freedom and security, it’s really better for me if one, or all women can be convinced to continue to believe that they have ‘won’. Otherwise, they never stop trying to ‘get even’ for the perceived sin I committed by abandoning them.
