MGTOW andriod app??

I know we have a wide breath of skill sets here how about a Mgtow phone app? I’ll be willing to help fund the project I’m sure we have enough tech guys here to do it ?

Would be happy to discuss with you further and I have two ideas which I think you will LOVE. We have been talking about this for a while, but we have a major addition coming up soon and time is currently limiting. But lets at least get a dialogue going on this for sure. It would be excellent. Thank you for initiating.

Cool and I think alot of people would be interested cause honestly it’s easier for me on a app. I’m 90% we have the techy side covered but I think whoever creates should should be compensated for their time unlike women we are fair and just. Even if everyone donated 1 buck each that would more then cover it.

I had already started one a while back, but there didn’t seem to be a great deal of interest, and when other things came up I didn’t keep working on it. If there is more interest I might pick it up again.

There really isn’t much more I could do with the app at this point without much more extensive site integration, and that is more of a question of Keymaster & company’s availability.

Perhaps try not to let that discourage you. Before we opened here there was no apparent “interest” either.. although we did reach out to some significant/established Manospherians and , well, sound of crickets chirping followed. But we did it anyway.

Eek, we have something coming up next month (for International MGTOW Day hopefully?) which applies here. Would love to know more about what “extensive site integration” , and will be happy to work with you if you need our assistance.

Im BLASTED now with deadlines which will ease by the 17th of Jan. After that I can exhale a bit. So why don’t we reach out in the second half of this month.

Very cool guys; i had no idea this was going on, but i’ve thought many a time that i’d love a mobile app.

Anyone know what app dev work goes for these days? Is there a big difference between costs for android apps vs. iphone apps?

Actually, for an app that mimics a website, which does not need the specific functionality of an iPhone or an Android, the app can be written once and simply published for all 3 platforms (IOS, Android, WinPhone). Depending on how much documentation would be available from KM, the cost to produce such an app would not be that high. In fact, I’m sure there are some of us here that would build all/part of it for free.

My initial pass at the app was basically some site scraping (quotes and recent topics) and a webview that took you straight to the forums. I didn’t want to go down the authentication rabbit hole. In fact, everytime you open up the forums in the app right now it is a new session aka you would have to login each time, which sucks. On the other hand the app stores NO user data locally.

Extensive integrations that would involve website account integration would be subscription/following notifications, chat, messaging, etc.

Technically, both Apple and Google have provisions in their development environments that will load any URL in an app as a webpage. That is what I did in my app, for loading the mgtow.com view. As long as the site supports it well then you can whip up an app that just loads up the webview fairly easily. It is the other bells and whistles that take more time.

So far I spent only 20-30 hours on getting things to the state they are, but I could easily see 300 hours more. If things got crazy 3000 hours, but then I would expect something awesome.

As far as Apple stuff goes though I don’t have a Mac/iPhone, have never used one, and am not setup in their developer environment. That is why I went with Android.

This would be a one-off, so you would have to go with a production company or a freelancer. For those based in the US, prices vary between $25 and $150 per hour, but a more realistic rate would be around $60.
My rough estimate is 2 developers working about 500 hours each (about 12 weeks) if you need to reproduce all the functionality on the website and you only have the documentation available.
So, about $60,000.
But this is a very rough estimate. I haven’t checked the entirety of the site lately, so there may be complicated things lurking that would require more time. Also, it depends what kind of communication layer is feeding the website and how much of that can be used as is and how much has to be re-worked. All these things would increase time. But, it also depends how much one would be able to reuse from the existing code of the website, like HTML, CSS and Javascript. If some or all of the code would be availabale the dev time would go way down.

Can the app have a No F~~~s Given tracker please? a nice button to press that does something cool to remind not to give a f~~~ whenever I see some stupid feminist bulls~~~. It could even give a cumulative total by day, month, year of how many no f~~~s were given. You could call it a mindfulness app.

My goal for 2017 is NFG mastery.

And maybe the App could have like a picture of a stadium, with bigger stadiums that fill up when it reaches a goal i.e. 20,000 members with something like “this is what 20,000 men going their own way looks like”. I want to see Wembley Stadium full of mgtow.
