It can be argued the idealistic ideology aspired to and promoted in the modern liberal tradition is Meritocracy, or that everyone gets what they deserve in a market. But is this correct, and is it a good thing?

    This video goes into it:

It is like there is benefit for society to have this, but on an individual level there is a price that is paid. I believe part of meritocracy is that it allows elites to frame things for the masses so they will feel their being in a lower state is their fault and deserved, so they don’t rise up and say it is unfair. I am debating whether maybe I should of put this in the philosophy forum instead of here.

Politics and philosophy go hand in hand. I think it goes well in either forum. And I agree with your analysis about how its used as a blame attenuation function.

It is this blame part that bothers me. Even myself, I ring through a ringer of how short I have fallen. I have to plug in my own values as a coping mechanism, and drop the Blue Pill beta/omega mentality. I am currently taking Omega as a reason to drop out and shape my own way, and maybe hit a home run somewhere by playing by different rules than others.
