Hi guys Brian Coyle here. For those of you interested in meditation and enlightenment, there is a great youtube channel called actualised.org. The dude running it is named Leo Gura. His work has helped me tremendously with my MGTOW journey. I have been meditating at least 20 minutes a day since early January and I have recently started enlightenment work. I believe that my self-control and discipline is much better. I rarely procrastinate and have made great gains in fitness, compulsions, addictions and the like. I honestly feel like a new man for the most part. For anyone thinking about meditation, just do it it is fantastic! I recommend starting with his video on meditation. Best wishes MGTOW brothers.

I think that is a great suggestion. The MGTOW path is similar to the path of many men in quest of enlightenment. Most formal religions acknowledge similar mechanisms towards enlightenment. We are essentially voicing the same rejection of and disdain for the artifice and illusory gain  of this modern culture. I wish you continued success in your path, it sounds like a peaceful, positive and self-affirming method. Maybe it is also time for me soon.

I personally find meditation absolutely fascinating from a neurological level. I listened to a lecture about it once where the guy was talking about experimental lobatomies in the 1940’s and how a lot of the behavior in those who were experimented on is extremely similar to what most people consider “normal” today: lethargic,  lack of recall, obsession with routines and repetition, etc. Intervening with actual conscious behavior allows us to actually override that base behavior. Just incredible

I can recommend meditation. I got into it because of my interest in Oriental martial arts back when I was a teen. We’re in good company:

Meditate Just Like The U.S. Marines

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

I can’t say enough good things about simple meditation. When I had a brainpan full of PTSD, it’s the ladder I used to climb out of my own hole. I dove head-first and did a year retreat at a Tibetan monastery in upstate New York- I wouldn’t recommend going that far unless you feel like you’re in an actual deathspin. Be skeptical of self-appointed “gurus”, lots of those guys are in it for the cash like most religious leaders.

Words to look for: Vipassana, Zazen, Dzogchen; they’re all talking about the same thing. Simple breathing, simple mindfulness. Anyone can do it and benefit regardless of religious or non-religious belief and background.

I’ve been using the guided imagery and meditation tools from Emmett E. Miller M.D. for over two decades. @ DrMiller.com
been following E. Miller who is a true pioneer in the field long before he even had a website. His CD “Letting Go of Stress”
includes guided imagery programs with one called ‘a trip to the beach’ with perfect sounds
absolutely fantastic guided journey.. see your toes in the sand 🙂

..also some great reading material about the beneficial effects of meditation and mind/body effect from Herbert Benson M.D.
his books “The Relaxation Response” + others.

Over two decades work is fantastic kudos sjur. I am poor at guided meditation and would like to improve. I prefer the clear your mind, push the thoughts away ans simple mantras style for now. I will definitely look up Miller and Benson the more the merrier! Hope it all goes well for you with your meditation and guided imagery work.
