“Survive and procreate” – this is the scientific “solution” to meaning of life. I have been thinking about this sentence lately. I started to inspect to idea behind it.

So Why do you survive? So you can procreate.
So why do you procreate? To pass on your genes.
Why do you pass on your genes? To survive( at least a part of you ).

So is life really it? About making babies? And passing on your genes?
But you can look at it at this point. How about “passing on your genes”, means “leaving a legacy”? Because thats what it is, in its true’s form.

Nicola Tesla – One of the greatest scientists in the history of man kind, died alone and in poverty. He had no children. Does that means, that he didn’t fulfill the purpose of life? But how can that be? He invented technology that changed the world and save millions of lives every day( what do you do when you have a house fire, call 911. You are able to call 911, because of niclas and many other’s inventions ).

So i think, that meaning of life is to survive and leave a legacy. Something that makes world a better place, something buetifull.

I have been messing around with physics for past 5 years, i have decided to pick it up and make it serious, starting school september.

Not a big writer, but wanted to share.

    Thanks.

    Hello!

I consider life just as a runaway infinite loop. Every form of life does survive and procreate, even bacteria. Life just exists, and continues to exist. It does not make sense, does not need to. Stupid bacteria and animals do the same as most humans, survive and procreate. It is an infinite loop. Nothing more. No “meaning”. If robots could do the same thing, I’d consider them a form of life.

Conclusion: If you want a meaning for your own life, you have to add the meaning to it yourself. Think of what you want to get out of your lifetime, what makes you happy, etc…

The meaning of my life is “Think, Learn and evolve”.

"We didn't start the fire. It was always burning. Since the world's been turning" "A world that vilifies men only breeds a generation of men that feel no empathy towards women" “In a woman’s mind , there is really no such thing as a ‘we’. In her eyes, earth allways revolves around her, not the other way around. So thinking that your needs , aspirations or desires are valid enough to be persued, or even that you are entitled achive such goals, is like asking your boss for a pay rise in your very first day at the job.”

    Q: Meaning of life?

A: Somehow this story has direct bearing on the question, but don’t ask me why: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/culturebox/2014/02/dalai_lama_at_a_santa_fe_ski_resort_tells_waitress_the_meaning_of_life.html

There is no meaning to life other than what each individual makes it mean to them. Ultimately we are nothing more than space dust temporarily cursed in our current form with the ability to contemplate such things.

The better question is: Is there any real meaning to meaning?

I mean after all, to mean something into meaning is meaningless unless there is some other means behind that means to our meaning us meaning it. I mean this.

Joking aside, the question is bunk as one must live in order to “mean”. The question is faulty as it is fundamentally one of semantics for if one were to break down the language “meaning [is] of life”, as in “meaning” comes from life. So what is life?

One cannot reverse the question to “Is life of meaning” without having a seperate premise (meaning) within the question. This difference in premises (life) vs (meaning) based on the order of the wording automatically sets a precedent of “hierarchy” in one respect of life over meaning and vice versa. So if one were to continue with “Is life of meaning” we could see “life [is] of meaning”. So what is meaning?

My point is the question of “what is the meaning of life” is not only faulty on its own terms in some respects but also is a disguise for the questions of:

    What is meaning?
    What is life?

And the issue of “What” already leads to a prefigured set of answers as “what cannot allow us to answer with a “Who” or “Where” leading us to really question if meaning or even life itself can be boiled down to the terms of a “What”.

And one can go on. You get the point…or don’t…I really don’t care.
