So, Mom and Pop places don’t really have the resources to do this. Nor would they have the financial means to keep in business if they were required to almost double their payroll. This is one of the reasons I’m positive that a push to raise minimum wage is a thinly veiled attempt at separating the upper and s~~~ter classes even further apart.

You can’t make s~~~ smell like roses, OP. Their system is f~~~ed up and all f~~~ed up and anything they’ll try to do is only gonna f~~~ it up some more. They wanted to make the best meal possible but they killed the cook and took a dump in the ingredients.

Lets face it..– We really don’t have an economy based on manufacturing anymore. Its based on selling service with goods built in other countries.

If you look at the majority of the new construction its usually retail– out of that — it’s mainly fast food. Now you have to  realize big corporation are not dumb. They will use whatever resources are available to make their products at a cheaper rate so they make more profits. You see many years ago, these big fast food places realized– if they pay their workers minimum wage  then that worker would be below the poverty line especially if they had to support a family.  Some corporation have even directed their workers back to the federal government to get the services (ex: food stamps, and child care)

Both the federal and state governments are getting wise to this concept. Why do you think there has been a push for fast food workers to get $15 an hour. Why now?  Its simple — you pay the worker  more and this gets the worker off the state and federal subsided programs ( like food stamps and child care). It throws the expense where it belongs — back on the corporations. I like  to refer to this as the indirect  fat ass tax. You want to eat crap you pay more. If you don’t, you don’t buy. It happened with cigarettes in the past and now its happening with fast food. The difference is their are no direct taxes collected by the government to enjoy your fast food.

The added bonus is the worker is now off the system and is now paying more in taxes( more  personal taxes collected). The side benefit is — do you think you will pay more for the same burger that still taste like crap to begin with. Most likely not!! You will find a local place that serves better food. This will also mean that you wouldn’t have people living off eating this crap on a daily basis. — ( a healthier person— which BTW will help keep the health insurance rates stable. More people would be paying towards health care)

When I was growing up, the fast food jobs were usually your first jobs as a teenage.  If you want more money, a person needs to get the skills to make that extra money. If you don’t like the job/ money,  find a better one that you like and stop saying you should be entitled to have something handed to you.

This is EXACTLY what the f~~~ would happen because of the minimum wage. Companies would do this s~~~. No one who supported this had the brains to foresee this type of stuff!

What people forget or mostly do not know is our currency is a fiat currency(backed by a wink and a nod, instead of something of actual value say GOLD). Raising minimum wage does NOTHING, they will just print more. Printing more effectively increases the gaps in income, since those at the top make percentages of the currency while those at the bottom make a fixed semi fluid(raises and job switching) amount. I may not be a genius, but I get it.
