Ok so for the Matt Damon thing. He is not disagreeing that men should not be accountable for misconduct. But he draws a line between what Louis CK has done vs something like Weinstein. I read Minnie’s remarks. She didn’t do herself any favors. Damon’s statement– that acts of improper sexual conduct belong on a continuum–conveys an idea so basic and so bland that any objection to it should baffle sensible people. After all, every act of improper conduct lies on a continuum. Hpw does saying so incur scorn?

If there is to be a “conversation” generated by #metoo, that conversation has to include those with various points of view; if it doesn’t it’s just an echo chamber.
