I found this site because I new there had to be other guys like me. Slowly figuring out on our own that relationships are a rigged game. Stumbled onto this place and realized ‘holy crap! I’m not alone and I have a lot to learn!’ Jumped in and read the stories, read the carnage, read my FUTURE!
Then a couple weeks ago it happened. I got the ultimatum. Marry me or get out! Fair is fair, I pay the bills, she owns the house. But I make far far more. After a day of reflection I did what I had to do. When she came home I sat her down and explained that I totally understand she wants a commitment, a secure future and a husband. She leaned in expectantly…and I’m going to help…more leaning in, doe eyes…”by getting out of your way.”
She just stared at me, stunded. I explained bills are covered through the end of the month, then things are being turned off. I’m leaving as you requested and don’t want to be in your way anymore. Her face turned pale. What happened next was text book and you guys had me ready. She started crying…I walked out of the room. She followed. Next she asked me why I won’t marry her. Calmly told her I can’t take the risk in life that marriage demands and thanked her for pushing me to the point of realizing it. HER: “You’re just afraid!” ME: “Of marriage, no. Of divorce , you’re damn right I am” HER: “NAWALT” word for friggin word. Straight out of her mouth. ME: (life flashing before my eyes) “ohhhh noooo”.
That was the “it” moment for me. Doubts were gone, I was doing the right thing. I did as I said and left, don’t get me wrong I miss her, but I couldn’t stay! Cave on that and she owns me and loses respect for me in the same blink of the eye.
Thanks to everyone who shared there stories of hell on earth, you’ve helped keep at least one more from jumping in with you…

Well played. She was probably 95% sure you’d give in. Am I right?
And I can bet money her Hive pushed her to press this issue – mom/sister/friends probably. And she went along imagining white dress, dove releasing and rice throwing. You’ll see whose idea it was if you’ll hear she got into a argument with someone close.

How long has it been since you two started living together? How old is she?

She is not done yet. She has to try and recoup her investment: you. I hope you plan to be scarce for the next few years or so.

If that was her idea – you won’t hear from her. If it was someone else’s – expect her to backpedal and apologize. And I would even give her another shot if that was the case – but with condition of no marriage talks ever and separate finances. Depending on how good she is

That’s so perfect I can’t even finish this sentenc

Did you by chance read my recent story about that? Where I encouraged independence in her, fell for the tears and stayed in it for 2 1/2 years just to “not hurt her feelings”… and then BLAM!!!! I got BLAMED for “not letting her be her own person”. Imagine falling for the tears, caving, appeasing her to “make her happy”, and one day at breakfast, she says “I feel trapped”. Or screws your best friend. Or pick a scenario. How p~~~ed off would you be?

    I was pure livid.

You ONLY made the right move here.

That was the “it” moment for me. Doubts were gone, I was doing the right thing. I did as I said and left, don’t get me wrong I miss her, but I couldn’t stay! Cave on that and she owns me and loses respect for me in the same blink of the eye.

    Reading your intro is like……

    HER: “You’re just afraid!”

    “JUST??”.

ESPECIALLY if you’re afraid –>> No man should ever marry a woman who HATES him enough to actually let him go through with it.

“Go ahead jump off that cliff. You’re just afraid”.
“Go stand next to that Lion cage. You’re just afraid”.
“Go pet that alligator. You’re just afraid”.

“Guess what. I bought the motorcycle I always wanted”.
“What are you f~~~ing NUTS??? Get rid of it NOW!!!!”.

    “You’re just afraid”.

One of the best moves you ever made, man.
If you don’t know it now, you will.

You are gonna be “MGHOW of the Day” on our homepage SAT AND SUN.

Thanks for the support guys. Was with her for five years. Had some good times but plenty of crap too. I have property in another state, couple houses, and a great job that lets me live anywhere. I’m already several states away.

    Marry me, or leave!

When she can end it just like that…. it’s already over.

She doesn’t give a f~~~ about *YOU* either.
It’s just about her “getting married”.

Give it a while and she’ll meet and date another one and tell him the same thing. And the most psycho part of that, is that she would marry THE VERY NEXT ONE.

I could have been married at least 5 times if I aggressively pursued it. I determined none of them were suitable. But they married the very next guy, or the one after that.

That’s some seriously creepy s~~~ as far as I’m concerned.
    Better him than me.

    Congrats Trapper, bullet dodged.

She’ll probably come back with “Stay, I’ll never mention marriage again!”, but all the while she’ll covet that marriage ‘contract’, the white dress and HER special day and her resentment of you denying her all of these female ‘entitlements’ will fester. She owned the house but you paid they bills hey – sounds like she was getting the sweet-side of the deal and will now have to fund 100% of her household budget.

Amazing how women look a gift-horse in the mouth, slap it in the face and then kick it in the dick for good measure and are dumbfounded when the horse walks away, never to return.

She’s lost her walking ATM machine, you should be as happy as the guy pictured below, knowing she will no longer being making withdrawals from you!

imagine coming here in 3 years, a broken man, spent thousands of dollars in court to protect yr property and visitation rights to a kid or two, maybe a contempt charge on yr record up to yr neck in debt, living in a tent in south west Kansas looking for a job…oh wait, that’s what happened to me

    never mind
