Marriage Licenses Should Expire

Why don’t marriage licenses expire?  Every other license in the world expires, EXCEPT a marriage license.  Does that make any sense?  If a marriage license expired the cost of divorce would drop dramatically.  Renewal of the marriage license would require both parties to agree, if not, it would be “game over”.

Alternatively, how about raising the cost of a marriage license to $150,000.00.  More guys would do the math before making the big step.

Never happen. The reason why it doesn’t expire is because both she and the government has you on the hook.

The charge to renew IS $150k … it auto renews ….. and the account is in your name 😢
