I decided to start this as a positive thread to have a Zone Totally dedicated to men, in order to focus on us, our goals, struggles and ambitions, how we are travelling on our journey.

I’ve found that moving on from the red pill rage, I need some positive masculine input in my life. Dealing with stuff like finding inspiration and motivation to do stuff that makes life fulfilling, fun and interesting.

I was talking to my father over the phone last night and asking him, is this all there is to life? Go to work, earn some money, come home, rinse and repeat? He sort of said you just have to keep going until life brings you something, and hopefully it is good, otherwise you’ll have to deal with the challenges life inevitably brings.

I must say I am quite fortunate in having a masculine father, dominant and ferociously determined, he always used to say you will understand when you get older, like he had an intuitive understanding of the gynocentric bulls~~~ that was going around him even back then, 20 / 30 years ago, but he couldn’t put it in words. However I didn’t always see it like that. The younger me was indoctrinated into the feminine imperative, so I saw him as a tyrannical, selfish man unable to understand the world and others perspectives. Now I see it is the world, and everybody in it, not giving a s~~~ about men and our interests, and the only way to deal with it is to decide what we want and put our blinkers on and go for it.

Well I’ve started to read Mastery by Robert Greene, who also wrote the 48 Laws of Power, which will be next on my list, and I’ve started to research the dark triad immoral trifecta of personality traits, and I am convinced my father is one of those dark triad personalities. The psychopath part of the dark triad, is not able to be learned, neurologically I will not be one, merely emulating it, and my father does a decent job of that.

I guess some people here may not approve of this endeavor, and I respectfully request them to f~~~ off, I’m not looking for moral niceties, I am looking for something that works. Dark triad people are very powerful individuals, and from where I’m standing at the moment I am willing to pursue this as a means to accomplish my self interest.

I am interested to hear what other paths men here have chosen to pursue, it doesn’t necessarily have to be about the dark triad, that is just what I am interested in at the moment.

So lets keep it all about us and not mention “them” at all here, keep our attention, time and focus dedicated on ourselves, after all that’s who counts most.

. . . is this all there is to life? Go to work, earn some money, come home, rinse and repeat?

No! That is the external. It is the internal that matters. Nothing else matters in the end except our inner selves. We cannot control what the world foists upon us in our daily struggle to survive and prosper, but we can — absolutely can — control how we react to it.

Like the man said: “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.”

(Apologies to all those Stoic philosophers whose teachings I’ve just mangled.)

Edit: The 48 Laws of Power is an excellent guidebook for spotting what “they” are trying to do to you, and “they” are everywhere so beware. I recommend you use it as a guide for avoiding the dangers of living in this world. I recommend against letting yourself being tricked into becoming a manipulative schemer, which is all too easy guidebook or no.

You can take the online test here

I scored well for Machiavellianism and Psychopathy but my Narcissism let me down.

For me, it was simple. Figure out who I was and then be it to the best of my ability. That didn’t take books or methods or training, it too quiet introspection… basically me spending time alone and doing whatever I felt like until I had a pretty firm grasp on what makes me happy and gives my life meaning.

Now I just spend as much of my time as I can doing that and avoiding people who try to f~~~ it up while leaving a bit of room for trying new experiences and taking chances. To me, that’s living.

And, for what it’s worth, I scored 14 percintile on narcissism, 20 percentile on Machiavellianism and 1 percentile on psychopathy. So I guess that means I’m a pretty decent and stable guy, huh?

I recommend against letting yourself being tricked into becoming a manipulative schemer,

I scored high on Machiavellianism looks like I’m already there, like Spacemonkey, I need to work on my narcissism.

It is the internal that matters. Nothing else matters in the end except our inner selves.

    Very wise,

It was Socrates that said Know Thyself and the only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

“One can have no smaller or greater mastery than mastery of oneself.”
    ― Leonardo da Vinci

“The first and best victory is to conquer self.”
    — Plato

I suppose inner peace comes from having power over yourself. Meaning self discipline leading to self guidance, and perhaps this is the most important part to the pursuit of happiness.

I can’t overlook the observation that my father has painted himself into a corner and is surrounded by people he can’t trust. Having lost loyal allies through manipulation, he has people that are loyal merely to his utility.

I see a circle of betrayal, leading to broken trust leading to manipulation and expecting the worst in people, so eventually you are surrounded by mirror images of your dark triad self.

It becomes a fine balance walking the Dark Triad path and trying to surround yourself with decent allies.

Lets face it most people are after something, there is no problem with making a deal and ensuring it is in your own best interests.
