When I call an employee into my office for a face to face talk, it’s almost always because there’s a problem, usually because that employee fucked up somehow. As to ‘mentoring’? Where the fuck does that even come from? I employ my guys with the expectation that they are actually capable of doing their jobs. It is not my job to teach them.

I think it’s really telling that nobody in the fake news has mentioned WHY women are so concerned about ‘one on one’ time and ‘individual access’ and ‘mentoring’ with their bosses to advance their careers. See without that ‘individual attention’, female employees lose their opportunities to fuck their way up the corporate ladder. Instead, poor dears, they now have to earn any promotions by actually doing their jobs.

    Just like men.

Good point side car. Since when did I ever get mentored as a man? You get taken aside to be given work that is a bit unusual or to get told you messed up. At least that was how it was when I was an employee.

Women are attention vampires and they seem to require attention, help and validation to be able to function well in life. Fine but you are not paid to need these things. If you are getting them from your boss you are probably using your sexual currency to get them. It is not fair to give a woman these things and not give a man them. They are not your right ladies. They are just another sign that you should not be in a lot of jobs and would not be if it were not that you had been boosted there for possession of t~~~.

Never been mentored. Bosses kept their cards close to their chests; it’s a dangerous world out there. Why arm someone who is after your job? Especially in this gynocentric world where men have been targeted for “gendercide”. “Here’s my knife, slit my throat”. My secrets are my secrets and like my chili recipe, I’ll take them to my grave.

The most lucrative things I ever learned are self-taught. No one told me to learn to code way back in 1983, nor how to type for that matter, and it was definitely not cool to be a geek back on those days. I learned what I know because of perseverance, and yeah a little spite. I knew someday computers would be running the world so I jumped in head-first despite the girls calling me a nerd. Fast-forward to 2019 and now they’re all carrying around a little computer in their pocket wherever they go, and they’re totally addicted to the things. I get gloating rights. They, however don’t automatically gain the right to ask me technical questions when they get stuck just because I may know the answer. They could put in the time to learn just like I did; no shortcuts.

Mentoring on the job is one of the most effective ways in increasing a person’s productivity. Unless there is a previous relationship it almost never happens. People are too busy with their own work.

There is no such thing as mentoring in a man’s world. You get a job and you better be able to do it right the first time. If you want more experience, you shut your mouth and watch someone with more experience and you try to learn from watching them. No one takes you by the hand and tells you the ins and the outs. There are no gold achievement stars or participation trophies. You produce or you are out of a job.
One way for companies to quit worrying about mentoring women is to simply quit hiring them. Production and morale will go up and the chances of some BS lawsuit go down. No need to worry about your company’s policy on maternity leave either.

    fixed.

And even then it’s men on the same project helping each other out to finish the job, not the boss playing schoolmaster.

When women talk about “mentoring”, they never mean actual mentoring. Just like how they never mean actual “equality”. Their idea of “mentoring” is getting someone else to do their job for them.

heh@ Mentoring. Now that they cannot get a closed door meeting, they’re stuck on the same playing field with the men that they once claimed they were just as good as. Well, now you’re gonna show and prove, or crash and burn.

Read : they require a man to do their job for them, give them credit, not complain about it, and just be happy being on the team.

And if you notice they regularly Come to work in wildly inappropriate and distracting attire, you are the threat and ” not a good fit.”

I’m glad they’re finally getting a task of absolute disposability.

There is no such thing as mentoring in a man’s world

I’m a programmer on a team of around 30. I go out of my way to mentor about four of the guys. The last time I was ASKED to mentor a new female, I talked to her for 30 minutes on a Friday and Monday morning, no exaggeration, I was being accused of sexual harassment… when she was the one who showed up in a low- cut, flowery blouse and no bra, in an office where everyone wears jeans and tee- shirts.

That exact story is why I keep turning down management positions and only talk to women in git or through emails.

    That’s what I say.

I’ve had men ask me to teach them how to code. The last couple were not women but in another protected class. I’m not teaching them. They need to do the work like I had to do.
