It falls into the general geekiness of the subforum.

I am working on a graphic novel that includes a character who fills the typical badass-type person role.  A little way into the story, it is revealed this badass is a woman (disguised up until this point) and a member of an oppressed (WWII-style) demographic.  Out-of-combat, I plan to have her exhibit neurosis and phenomenon that a real person would exhibit, having been forced into becoming a mercenary at a young age (think Berserk’s “Guts”, but a little less dark).
I am thinking that she would be quick to anger, prone to physical violence and generally clueless about daily life, yet still hold a certain wistfulness that she never experienced it.  She will be counterbalanced by a man who was once a war criminal (enhanced by magic) who constantly takes the high ground (moral and physical) with aloof ease.  It is implied that he smokes pot.  The setting is a fictional land with a hybrid of fantasy /1930’s technology.
Any thoughts?  I apologize for vagueness, but I am protective of my idea…

“How do you write women so well?”

“That’s easy, I think of a man, then subtract reason and accountability”

Your ideas are good ones. Keep us posted and let us know when it goes on sale. Will she want to get married and move to a cottage with a white picket fence — deep down inside, not consciously? This would be a good ingredient for the neurosis stew, IMO.
