As I was replying to swimcat’s post below it really struck me just how much your average lil HO and Mother DOESN’T do for HER FAMILY.

I have memories of my mother always cooking, baking, laundering, ironing, sewing, and working around the house in general for her family. With all of these actions that SHE WAS DOING for her family; she was also creating bonds with each member of the family. Through HER DOING each member created lasting memories of a good meal shared, a cleaned and ironed shirt and pants prepared just for them, the smell of home baked pies, etc. etc, etc, etc.

through HER ACTIONS she showed how much she cared for each member of the family, and this created BONDS between parent and child. Each member of the family could appreciate this at their own level, but whether they showed it or not each would come running to MOM when they needed something BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT THEY COULD COUNT ON HER. My mother was FAR from perfect as most humans are, but she did do many things for each of us which when I compare to today’s average lil HO that does nothing but spend money, play on her phone, and cheat on their spouse; I’m just AMAZED at how much she did for EACH OF US.

Today, my useless parasitical wife and mother of our children DOES NONE of these things for her children, and they really don’t need her for ANYTHING, and they really try to have as little involvement with her as possible. Furthermore, she has more confining, and some very ridiculous, rules for them that push them away even further. SHE has not CREATED these bonds with them nor will they have any fond memories of “all the things that she used to do”. She herself has stated that she feels that no one needs her for anything. Well that’s the bed SHE HAS CREATED.

They come to me, talk to me, and trust me more than her, and I obviously don’t go to her for ANYTHING.

This is not saying that ALL Mothers from the past were as good as I’m making them out to be because there has ALWAYS BEEN PLENTY OF HORRIBLE MOTHERS, but what I’m getting at is by your “average”woman/mothers of “today” is no longer DOING all the things for their family that your “average” woman/mother used to do, and it makes their role within the family even less important to her husband as well as to her children. They are no longer CREATING LONG LASTING BONDS WITH EACH FAMILY MEMBER.

She like many similar woman will easily be discarded by their husband and children as time goes on, and the kids mature and become adults and their husband seeks a gray divorce after the kids are raised and gone.

Woman have made themselves LESS IMPORTANT as both a Wife and Mother.

Men had NOTHING to do with it, and there is NO GOING BACK.

What’s the point ?

There is NOTHING to be Gained by Marrying ANY Woman because sooner or later a woman that YOU THOUGHT was a NWALT become AWALT.

GO YOUR OWN WAY, AND KEEP GOING THERE IS NOTHING TO TURN BACK TO !!!

THAT TIME IS GONE AND SHALL NEVER RETURN.

Lurkers, if your eyes are not open in horror, reread the original post. Compare your observations and experiences to what you have been indoctrinated to believe about marriage. Ask yourself the following questions:

1) how many married men advised you to get married;
2) how many happy long-term marriages have you seen;
3) how many men have you seen happier to be divorced and impoverished than shackled to a ball-and-chain;
4) how many of my peers have you seen give up their hobbies, leisure time, and their friends for the sake of marital harmony?

The list could go on, but just look for the ‘bliss’ and ‘maturity’ you have been told come from a wedded union. Then look for that bliss and maturity among your peers and role models. Weigh the odds and ask yourself if you really want to roll the dice.

Agree. My mom was as you described.

My wife on the other hand never cooked one meal the whole time we were married. I had to cook or dine out if I didn’t want to starve. My wife also rarely did laundry. Sewing was beneath her, as was yard work. Her only gift was spending money, something she did very well. The bitch had over 100 pairs of shoes.
I had to work longer hours to support her spending habits.
