“The average American will spend $142.31 on gifts. Men are going to spend nearly twice as much as women with overall sales amounting to a whopping $19 billion.

$4.8 billion will be splurged on jewelry, $3.6 billion will be spent on date nights while just over $2.1 billion will be set aside for flowers.”

What a racket.

It’s bad enough that men are expected to pay for dinner and entertainment and are shamed if they don’t.

American men this year will spend over 12 billion on women. Women will pony up around 6 billion. Some equality.

I couldn’t believe the Japanese “obligation chocolate” practice.
So she gives us a chocolate bar and a month later we give her diamonds.
Damn. Men shouldn’t walk away. Men should run away like a bat out of hell.

We know that the average American will spend $142.31 on gifts this year. How much are you guys spending? I’m a lot better, but I still shelled out a few bucks for donuts. Next year it will be zero.

Actually, this might be progress. Think about it. If you were to be asked the question, in money spent in for a relation, what is the percentage women spend? What would be your answer?

When a man is foolish enough to marry, everything he earns is half hers.
So ALL those gifts you get her will be counted as gifts to her out of the mutual pot.
To illustrate, a man earns 100k. He gives his wife a 70k gift. She divorces him.

My past valentines days in all my lifetime (20 years) were spent $0 and this won’t change this time (21.th time).

Turns out, it’s also a very lucrative business. Look at marriage, society has said you need to buy a ring, have a wedding, pay up all this money just to be together respectably. And then there’s the divorce machine we have going around. There are billions in the marriage business, and them untold amounts more in the divorce business. And when there’s money to be made, those that profit will do anything to keep making money. Shame all you want, you won’t see a dime from me.
