Anonymous42I’m looking to publish a web and know Frontpage inside and out, but like anything I like that commie f~~~ Bill Gates is bent on destroying, no Bill I don’t want W-10 and got a control panel to stop you and your f~~~ing sheeple corral!
I liked my XP! F~~~ YOU MICROSOFT!
<spontaneous rant over>
Anyway, I’m willing to pull my hair out switching to a different web development platform. I would like a “what-you see-is-what-you-get” interface, not a raw html editor.
I’m looking to develop a static site with a shopping cart. Perhaps later videos.
Any advice from here, MGTOW.bomb (web-master central) would be greatly appreciated!Foot note to C-Pig, I’ll send the free sample of bloom booster tomorrow, I need a soda bottle but I don’t drink soda…
MG_tower, I’ve been publishing on a self-hosted WordPress platform since 2011. I have ZERO coding skills, nor do I want or need them. I’m a content creator, so I focus on that.
And I’ve done well. My site, a niche DIY home improvement blog, has over 400 pages of all original content and sees a reliable 1.5 million pageviews and 500,000 uniques per year, and is still growing.
I have first page Google search ranking for every single keyword and keyword phrase in my topic. And I achieved that by simply writing content that my readers want — no black hat SEO tricks were used. I also label my images correctly so they show up at the top of relevant image search results.
The theme I currently use is Canvas, by WooThemes, and it has all the SEO functions built right into the theme. I think I paid $120.00 for it.
I use DreamPress as my hosting service that costs $24.00 per month. And it’s well worth it. My site is super fast and is never off-line.
Right now I’m in the process of opening a Shopify store where I can sell products I design and make myself. If all goes well, I’ll be able to dump my day job within the year and then focus on adding more products to the store.
That’s the plan, anyway.
I guess the point I want to make is this: I did this with a WYSIWG editor — just point, click and create content your readers/customers want.
If you have any other questions about this, I’d be happy to try and answer them. Good luck!
Anonymous42I know what you mean about aligning all your pictures, page titles, and print, with the most likely search quire, I had 27,000 page views in one week, and also #1 on a s~~~load of search words and phrases, We owned the word ZONING. top 10 search results! The site has been down since around 2004, the registrations expired, and still it shows on google searches. I need a site because I plan to do nearly all my business online. I also like the ability to market related items I make that are superior to anything you can buy.
This time when I publish a site it’s gonna be strictly business and ease of navigation, no feminist mindset clutter, just a main page and subcategories with pictures and prices. Any how to advice I will create another site and link it.If you’re going to sell physical products online, definitely checkout Shopify. Even better, it integrates really well with WordPress.
There is WordPress and Joomla for making database “mysql” based websites. They are the most popular because ordinary users can do basic editing. However if you are more interested in design I would suggest Adobe Muse. It is oriented around not needing html coding but lets you get creative with the format and design without needing to install wordpress, joomla or a database back end.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

Don’t get me wrong, I like HTML editing, countless times it bailed me out of glitches that otherwise were invisible on the see-what-you-get screen. They complement each other, but HTML is absolutely necessary to check linked page addresses and sometimes quicker to insert things, especially dynamic HTML codes and their necessary GIF or or jpg hosted images.
My rust is thick, but enough effort on my part it will all come back to me, plus whatever I missed the past 10 years. .
Anonymous42A complete different language to me. Personally the internet could disappear tomorrow and I could give a f~~~. A tree is known by its fruit and the internet has caused way more harm than good. Much Success!
WFT! Who the f~~~ are you? No link in your avatar? one 1+, and on this thread?
“the internet has caused way more harm than good.” The internet is a tool, and here it’s doing more good than anywhere else, your blanket is a little bit to large, you’re in essence calling knowledge for the individual something bad. And it’s the internet that exposes the bad, by showing the truth.
Alcohol can be used to disinfect a wound which is something good, or it can be ingested to destroy a liver which is something bad. It’s your choice, medicine or poison, whichever you chose is your choice, be sick, or be smart, it’s all a matter of what the individual chooses.
Hey Tower on your Genie Alert, thanks for the alert…. I deleted that comment from the “anonymous” user who requested to be deleted today because of a personal issue. That’s why he showed up as “anonymous” so he’s not questionable or anything.
I will get back on my thoughts on this later, but for now, Shopify if you own the inventory and are selling your own products and I second what Hominid said. More later, my friend.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
Anonymous42Thanks KM, after the last post I thought I was going crazy seeing he vanished, \\\poof///, you’re best damn gynocentric genie on the internet, “click, alert” \\\poof///!!
Hey Tower, I would ask more about what you want to ULTIMATELY end up with, but a self hosted WordPress site is a good and cheap way to get started. Check out wordpress.com and you can start with any theme to get rolling from themeforest.net
You want something “RESPONSIVE” (with a mobile-first approach) that flexes and compacts on any device. Take some time to see what you like. Hominid brought up great concerns, but themes are available from them too.
I tried a small site from GoDaddy just to see how the whole CPANEL thing and do it yourself thing works, and they offer good 24 hour support. You can manage it from your browser without getting your hands dirty in code yourself, but I admit to a novice this can be overwhelming to not know how to configure some of it.
There are many thousands of plugins that will help you too.
plus whatever I missed the past 10 years. .
Wordpress has made some AMAZING advancements especially since version 4 it’s a good platform and if you have basics with HTML, JS and CSS already…. the fundamentals are still the same. Some 80% of websites use it. It’s all free and open source and answers are everywhere online. You can teach yourself and find answers on Google.
$6-$10 a month on GoDaddy gets you a basic real estate and set up for your site and you can start playing around there. I actually wanted to see if it was any good for a friend who wanted something simple and they got it set up fast. Pick a theme and get to work in one evening.
To sell products .. if you own the inventory, use Shopify.
If you don’t, try RedBubble. If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
Anonymous42Thanls KM, Chir, Stealthy, and Hominid, I’ll reference this thread and search both google and U-tube for info, I’ll keep it economy for now, some of the highest rated web development software is over 300 clams. I’d rather build it like a jalopy anyway, I pride myself in all things thrifty! Who needs a high end Porsche when when a Volkswagen will do?

You don’t need a Volkswagen. You can get a really good set up , fast and a wordpress site installed for you at places like GoDaddy. They call them “Self Hosting plans” for $7 a month. It gets expensive when you site gets bigger over time. I don’t like alot of these hosting places because it’s tough getting someone on the phone usually but GoDaddy will speak to you and help. They are good about humans on the phone. You can have a first rate store on a site there with minimal space or big bandwidth requirements.
