Havent posted in a long time, havent needed to. But today i just feel down and stupid and useless. Im an intelligent guy (obviously, im MGTOW), but ive just never really applied myself in life. Honestly, things are really really good right now, and aside from the emotions today have stirred in me, im doing good, mentally, emotionally, etc. But I have just been slacking for so damn long that getting things done properly, when its really necessary, ends up becoming a failure. I have been working on a contract for my bread-and-butter client, basically in such a way that it will cover all my bills, leave me with a few bucks to have fun and save, and not have to work hard at all. But when i say i have been “working”, i mean i sit down occasionally and get distracted by youtube, etc. and have ended up doing poor quality work, both on the contract and the promises I need to back up. I had the boss call me out on it today, and now i feel like a complete useless dumbass. For Gods sake, i need to take the reins in my life and start kicking some ass. I know what the problems are, and especially the health ones i am addressing now, but i just_dont_seem_to_f~~~ing_care. Ordinarily NFG would be a great mindset, but not when we are talking about your own life. Just venting guys, feel free to chime in.

I’m all for working minimally to support your lifestyle, however a mam needs something to work on. Find something to work on, whether it’s your mindset (books), skills, finances, hobbies etc.
As men we need to work / build. But do it for yourself. I do it and it keeps me going.

Whose standard of potential are you holding yourself to?

Your boss, and what he wants you to produce for him?

Yourself, and what you personally want to do and achieve (for yourself)?

Or what you think you should be doing as a “productive” member of society?

We all have to answer to someone to put food on the table

At the same time — Know thyself

I'm going my own way. Maybe I'll see you there.

Start making a small list of things you can do in the next month to improve your situation and do those things. It can be small as cleaning up your work area to improve workflow or organizing your tools, computer files, creating a spread sheet to track your daily output. Look at the spreadsheet after a couple of days of work and decide what SMALL things you can do to improve your output. You can go small or big but I have found those who start on large projects right away tend to never finish them.

Depending how much time you have with your boss manage your time so you can build yourself up out of the funk you find yourself in. Just like lifting weights you don’t start off with the largest weight you work your way slowly into gaining muscle so that you can eventually lift those large weights. But you have to also be cognizant of your bosses expectations and you should be meeting your contractual obligations that should be your number one priority to start. You got the kick in the butt from your boss today the ball is in your court now he will not be giving you much leeway after today so you have to decide what you want out of your life. It starts by making that list and figuring out where you want to be in the next month do that and then continue to do that for the next month and so on. Eventually you can make one year goals as your “muscles” build up and if that goes as planed five year goals.

One way or another the world is unforgiving if you don’t decide for yourself what you want to do someone else will do it for you so it is up to you how you want to continue. I know it can be hard to get out of the rut you find yourself in but once you start small it snow b~~~~ and gets better as you continue to add more things to your list. There will come a point after meeting stuff on your list continually where the list will get short and you will be happy where you are that you no longer need to worry about large changes in your life any longer as you did everything over a 5 year period. As you become more successful people will try to tear you down don’t let the haters try to bring you down stick to your lists no matter what and you will be golden because you will be looking out for yourself first. But with that said people like your boss will also take notice and start to give you more contracts or leads to other contracts if you look after his companies interests first.

The boss knows you are smart that is why he gave you the kick in the butt you needed otherwise he would have found a way to terminate the contract and find someone else to take your place. The choice is up to you on what you want to do now without further details I can only give you a vague idea of what to do next.

Keep working on yourself. Lucky breaks seem to happen when you are on top of your game. If work isn’t flowing right now, maybe try chipping away at improving your health and with renewed energy work flow will increase.

A simple healthy lifestyle change is to make fresh veggie juice daily, a great substitute for alcohol too if you are in a habit of a few brews in the evening.

I find my procrastination streak comes as such. Usually its just a period overall (days) where I get little to nothing done. That can be further broken down to hours when I try to apply myself to a task but fail.

I haven noticed triggers – whether its stress, or curiosity or any other excuse – that make want to ‘just do this one thing’ before the avalanche of loserdom hits and I am few hours down the s~~~ter. Feeling all the worse for it.

Lately I have successfully applied a time-out method. Where I neither do my original work or procrastinate once the trigger hits, instead I just time out. Close my laptop, book, or what have you and just ponder on why I am there in the first place. Over time the answer becomes clear and instead of 5 hours- I am back to work in 5 minutes. Feeling that much better.

Your brain is like clay- mould it, mould it, and mould it some more. Spend time in solitude thinking nothing. It does wonders.
