Libtard coffee shop owner vs a bar owner

There used to be a somewhat fancy coffee shop about 2 miles from where I live. But it was located in a market place mainly meant for poor folks. He made the place pretty fancy for what it should be, that none of the saps dared enter it. Also most probably no one bothered about double espresso or choco latte. But the prices were cheap if compared to similar places elsewhere. The teens who thought it was affordable never bothered to bring their girls or friends to the coffee shop because the area was s~~~. But the place served me well for 3 years because the food was damn good for the price and pretty much like home cooked food. Used to order evening snacks and dinner from him quite a lot. Ordering coffee was a rarity though as I am not a coffee guy. The owner was a mildly obese mangina who used to overdo on mannerisms and was a very emotional food lover. That is why the food was good but he really sucked in business. Finally, he had to shut down the place after four years.

Compare this to a friend of a friend who opened a very typical bar and food place with very typical food at the same time the coffee shop opened. He is a smart guy and didn’t establish any, willy nilly, in weird locations. And now in four years, he has already opened three more bars in other places. And the bar owner is an IT professional on weekdays.

Chauv is right, location location location, but something else is at play here. I have a 16 year old daughter and whenever I take her and her friends out to lunch it’s always the same, penera, chipotle, Starbucks, five guys burgers. It’s always a franchise or chain. The younger generations are slaves to them. The mom and pop establishments are a dying enterprise in America.

With restaurant or pub, the two ways I know of, to offset the predominantly low profit is by opening one in a very crowded place or going for the super fancy route with high profit margins. With the fancy route, the food should be up to the mark though.

Well, as people don’t go to socialize anymore, the bar scene is about dead. The Places to eat are just that. Going out on a Friday to a guy these days is an event, or something cool. But the Police have all but ended that scene as well.

I have always wondered why more car themed things don’t pop up around the Racetrack. Well, since they did these Bulls~~~ Noise Ordinances crap, it just drove away business.

I would have LOVED to start a business in PDX, but the PEOPLE here suck so much, I don’t want to.

I have always wanted to start a breakfast place where I have bands come in and play for free, but the Buls~~~ thing is the LAWS make it almost IMPOSSIBLE to have a good time there.

I mean, all of the BULLS~~~ of dealing with WOMEN is bad enough. Dealing with the crap from the government and how they are HAPPY to Nail down the small business venture just makes it almost impossible to have FUN anymore.

Hell, some of the best times I ever had was when I was going out to nice restaurants when I was just 19, and having wine and drinks at the Space needle.

Today, in order to have a place like that, you have to have a rave or something.

It sucks, but the fun part was always going to these places. Now? It just sucks going there.

Even places LIke McMenamins has become a sore lately. There really needs to be a new place that is OUT of the way, and away from COPS as well. Almost like a club.

Man that would be cool.

A racetrack, a place to eat that was anything but normal, and something always fun to do, MAN that would be COOL!

And LOTS of Open FIreplaces!. Smoking is encourage, and having lots of parties going on at the same time.. Man that would be GREAT!

Not to mention TONS of working on cars. Car guys and Youtube Dudes making videos about whats going on there.

Man, it would be heaven.

But if I owned one here? I would have to make it so that they would never KNOW I owned the joint.

I kind of like having a BAR with a Restaurant in it.

A place for REAL business meetings, with REAL push for MEN being there.

None of this BULLS~~~ soy crap. Real Waiters, REAL Cooks, REAL men working. And tons of events done to bring YOUNG MEN into Muscle and Masculinity.

And I need a Lesbian PR staff like Paglia, or one of the MRM activist.

Oh yea, and if you HAVE NO EVER filed a DV order, YOU GET half OFF.

My business would last till about Fathers day, where all dads get a free meal.

I would make S~~~ TONS of money where White people could walk in and make their OWN food, serve themselves. I would make the Servers all wear Chains, and look like MR T, while having them all talk saying things like, YES MASSA!

Drip coffee has a high profit margin. Espresso is lower, but still decent.

Coffee shops for the most part. Are good for commercial, mall, and soccer mom areas.

For more poor areas. Gas stations and convenience stores have better success. The variety is higher. Quick purchases are at a premium. People that frequent them are usually worker bees. So they don’t cry as much as coffee shop clientele.

Yeah, thats what really killed the “Social” scene in my area too. Talk to older Men, prior to the 1990’s, the Bar was a place to go get drunk, socialize, exchange gossip, meet new people etc. The Police have had a chilling effect on all Social Gatherings.

The last time I went to a Bar they had Cops sitting at the Bar and Cops in the Parking Lot arresting people all night. Who wants to go to the Bar under such circumstances? There is no place to Socialize (Drink, Smoke, Gossip) in peace anymore.
