Hi guys,
I’m just looking for serious, hard data backed evidence that the pay gap is largely mythical.
We all accept that as true, but where is the hard proof? And I’m not talking about where some supposedly learned person wrote something about it. I mean I want the “we investigated and got payroll data from 100 cities across 100 different vocations, and here’s the data in excel format.”
I’m actually more interested in the part where, in any serious public debate on the matter, the proponents of the wage gap always say that the 73% or 76% figure they quote is supposedly adjusted to compensate for differences in time off, risk of death/injury, etc etc and “all things equal” there is still this big gap.
I think that’s bulls~~~, but I’m looking for HARD evidence.
So far here is where the trail has led me:
First, we have the Department of Labor’s site devoted to “mythbusting the pay gap”

Which is really nothing more than a taxpayer funded propaganda piece saying the “decision factor adjusted” pay gap is real, but yet providing no real data or evidence to back it up.
The closest they provide is a link to the 2011 census report:

Which as far as I can see provides no adjustment based on actual work output, hours worked, or personal risk level assumed. Please look and tell me if I missed anything.
Finally a really god source believe it or not is Wikipedia:

They at least actually have some hard data. I also caught this little gem:
“Any given raw wage gap can be decomposed into an explained part, due to differences in characteristics such as education, hours worked, work experience, and occupation, and an unexplained part, which is typically attributed to discrimination.[21] But this may be further explained when America takes into account that men are more likely to negotiate for higher pay.”
They have links to hard and vetted data that shows that while there may be some discrimination taking place, it’s not near enough to explain the supposed huge and arbitrary gap in pay.
I like this one too:
“According to Andrew Beveridge, a Professor of Sociology at Queens College, between 2000 and 2005, young women in their twenties earned more than their male counterparts in some large urban centers, including Dallas (120%), New York (117%), Chicago, Boston, and Minneapolis. ”

Here is study that shows how much more pay women are willing to give up than men for other perks like flexible works hours, etc.
When you factor everything in, men should make about 10% more than women, but in reality only make 3% more. So, women are 7% overpaid.

Anonymous0Scott Adams (creator of the Dilbert comic strip) did a huge analysis of all the different claims on the pay gap. It’s a long article, but it covers everything. If you go to the end of the article, it includes links to all the source materials and gives ratings on how reliable they are as scientific sources of data.
It’s probably way more info on the subject than most people want to read. But you can skim the long article to check out the conclusions he reaches about the pay gap.

i’m pretty sure bargaining and diplomacy along with reasonable arguments and fairness took the MRA pretty far…There has been a growing reverse pay gap since 2008.
Well over 80% of the homeless are male. 90% of HR is female. There is a ton of discrimination, for example, women with the same STEM degree are twice as likely to be hired but nobody is even mentioning the extreme oppression of and discrimination against men.

The simple data collection and math is flawed by design. The way the numbers are arrived at is purposely skewed to benefit the female.
If you take all of the $$ earned by men and divide that number by the number of men working you get “X”.
If you do the same process with women you get “0.75X”.Without considering that women go in to low paying jobs [social work, nurse assistants, teachers, etc ] BY CHOICE, you easily arrive at a lower number for women. I’m surprised that they were so generous with their propaganda. I would have expected 50% less, blah, blah, patriarchy.
Men, on the other hand, dominate 8 out of 10 of the highest paying career fields, thus skewing their average earnings higher.
What NEEDS to be done is a study comparing pay vs productivity with men and women. You would find that women are OVER PAID.
You don’t need any more evidence than MATH.

Anonymous17I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Women in many jobs are generally less than half as productive as men are. In some jobs women are just 20% as productive as men. If the government forces equal pay then companies will hire fewer women to stay competitive. If the government then forces companies to hire as many women as men then this is communism. We all know what happened to communism.

Lets get one thing straight.
When feminists are pushing their pay gap agenda they are not interested in having to work as hard
or as long as men do. No, what they want is that the gap be closed by getting the imaginary 20% to 25%
for free. They want that money and not work or earn it. The signs are there already that the
