You really have to think about the end game. Time is short in this world, and you can either spend life how you want or doing something else. Live life for you, no matter if you make 20 grand a year or 200 grand, live life how you want. When the big game of chess is over, both kings and pawns go into the box.

“When the big game of chess is over, both kings and pawns go into the box.”

    I think less is more..

Less clutter to lay around. I have exactly what I need, and I take care of it the best I can and keep things organized. I don’t need more crap.
Ill actually go through and get rid of stuff every 6 months to remove dead weight.

You don’t need a brand new car, just reliable, and most importantly, paid for in cash. No need to impress, although I think my little 99 Ranger is pretty neat.

Not a fan of banks. They have sold you a steaming pile of dung, and called it a delicacy. Everybody should be debt free. Real estate is a little different, but just the same.. Everybody should be at least, debt free.

The welfare issue is interesting, but I cant sit around and complain about the deadweights of society. Focus on what I can change for now.

The open post describes, how I feel about most games (e.g. WoW). You grind, so you can grind higher gear.
As for less is more –> that depends. What do you want to do with your life? If you wish to sleep in (something I have never been able to tbh…I just can’t spend free time sleeping, which I could spend to see something of this world) and stay in one city your entire life. Fine. Become the Mexican.

If you wish to travel the world, staying in a country for a month or more, you need resources.

So let me ask you, RoyDal (and everyone else), have you found your tiny village on the coast? Are you happy where you are?

    Yes, I have!

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Well…I certainly have less. And my paychecks are taxed so dysfunctional people can have more.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

    Less is surely more :

Less work means more free time. If you already are out of this mascarade of a system then it’s fine. Like the fisherman in the story.
But having f~~~ you money is great too, if you still want to benefit from the system advantages without paying a too expensive price.
Escaping the rat race and 9 to 5 slavery or exiting fully the monetary system is a mandatory goal for me.

With time and means to support yourself you are truly free. You can do what you want and even be controversial, you do not care and can show all your opinions as people have no power upon you. You cannot lose a job you do not have.

Even a freelancer needs to keep it low key, kowtowing to bitching clients and putting the long hours to work it’s not really “free” if you have to hustle even when you do not want to because you may not have work next month, thus may end hungry a few weeks from now…

By building a business and living off of passive income streams or by selling it and investing in bonds-stocks, allows to travel worldwide afterwards and truly be in control of your life, enjoying the moments 24/7 is glee.

End game is to combine a minimalist lifestyle, with prepping and owning home, some real estate assets and ongoing farm land is the solution.

This really made me think about my long-term game. Maybe I should reevaluate how I wish to spend my time and adjust accordingly. Thank you for the post.

I’ve been following this guy for a while. Sold everything he owns, travels the world on a shoestring budget. Could I do it? I don’t think so, but ya got to admit it. This guy has b~~~~.

Great story! I really enjoyed it. All too often I know im guilty of chasing money. In the pursuit I find im spending more than i’m making…. Its a dangerous game. 2018 is going to be my year for prosperity. 6 more months of child support started at the beginning of this month. I’m in countdown mode.

A simple life is good. A simple life without debt is best!

My bike and my truck are paid off, but because of my stupid ass getting married, I now have a brand new house payment after the divorce. However, that doesn’t bother me that much. My dreams of getting rich have been left behind a long time ago. I don’t make a lot of money, but I make enough to pay my bills and still have a little left over to play with. I live on the very edge of a little village and life is great. When I’m not at work, I can do whatever I want, whenever I want.

The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.

Great story reminding us that all the greens is just toilet paper.

It can help buy some time and freedom but it’s also detrimental to be trapped living with greed. Just to make what you wanted in the first place.

I flit between wanting to live the Mexican fisherman lifestyle now, and putting it on hold to see if I can make a bit more money (which I recognise is basically the trap). I’m 34.

I could liquidise all my money and buy a place with land on the continent (Europe). I’d have enough to get by frugally for a few years, but then I’d need a small income.

Or I can save/make enough by 40 to do the above AND keep hold of my city rental, which will provide me a decent income when paid off (probably at age 50) or large lump sum.

My time of life is the only natural currency I have to spend. I traded it for what I needed for many years.
when all the compensation for the entire year of 2016 was taken from me in Feb 2017 and I spent 7 mo in the county jail and Was deemed indigent I embraced my poverty.
I had put myself through a two decade TRIAL by ordeal. Year after year of working hard all summer just to go broke every winter. It is with full understanding that I made my decision to change my LEGAL DOMICILE. I had proven to myself that I wanted for nothing of this world.
The price I paid for this lifestyle of extreme poverty/freedom was a brutal physical and financial suffering.
The reward I acquired for living this way was mental and spiritual wealth and vitality.
I will always be poor, but so will everyone else. There is no money to be had.
The thing about life one should always remember is that when you are deemed penniless you are at the point in life when most great men die.

Why not deem money worthless in terms of what you need?
It is a poor substitute for everything you really need.
It has no nutritional value as food.
It is a poor material to use for clothing.
It is next to useless as a building material for shelter.
It proves a poor storage unit for value when saved over time.
The sooner a man realizes these things the better.

The moment I decided that there does not exist enough money
on this earth or six more planets like it to buy my dignity,
and morality is the very moment my future time of life became PRICELESS.

To protect my future time of life I give it away to a higher authority.
Some refer to it as a higher calling but I was not one of the many who
are called. I am among the few who are chosen.

Blessing, love and respect to all.

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.

First time I read this quote was also coincidentally the first time I walked into and ate at a Jimmy John’s restaurant. They had hung it up on the wall; I guess the meaning behind it jived with the owner’s sensibilities. Powerful stuff.
