“Well, I think that in order to have a successful company, you’re going to have to have women who like your brand.”

No, not really. Nike makes a good profit from Air Jordans—a brand marketed to boys and men. Compared to men, women are more likely to buy high heels than basketball shoes.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

One insufferable egotistical moron giving advice to another insufferable egotistical moron?

Thanks, but I’ll give it a pass.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

If i was rich i would buy a million dollars worth of this guys shoes and hand them out to guys on the street.

I just saw this story on yahoo, and of course the headline was “Female reporter disrespected by Lavar Ball”

Notice male reporters are disrespected every day of their lives, but you’ll never never never, see “MALE reporter disrespected”, because society is conditioned to accept that as normal.

As much as I want to be excited for Lavar and the shoe company he has. I just don’t see it being a sustainable thing. Now I like that a black guy has started his own company and is seemingly succeeding. But charging $500 dollars for shoes is a bit much. Especially when Nike, Under Armour, Addidas, and Reebok how their shoes at much lower prices, and not to mention they look better.

Let’s think about a family on a limited income. They may have multiple children to feed, clothes, house, and raise. Do you think those parents are going to justifiably pay $500 dollars for a pair of shoes. The s~~~ is not feasible. Even Shaq brought up how unaffordable those shoes are, and how it isn’t right to charge people that much for shoes. Now remember, Shaq has his shoes in Wal-Mart. His shoes are in the biggest store in the world. People around the world can buy his shoes, and a big family can buy shoes for their kids from Wal-Mart.

The thing that I really don’t like is how Lavar attempts to shame people into buying his shoes. He says that if you cannot afford these shoes, then you are not a “Big Baller”. He said people shouldn’t think about the price of the shoes and look at them as an investment. Well I’ve seen his shoes, and I can tell you for a fact, I’m Nike and Under Armour for life.

Rappers have been bragging about buying his shoes, but how long can that be sustained? It’s not about having one good year of making money, it’s about having multiple years of making money. And I don’t see how he does that, especially when people look at Nike and Under Armour, Puma, Reebok, and Addidas. You’re not going to see any school kids wearing these shoes around school. When Christmas time comes around, whose shoes are people camping outside and getting up early to go buy and order….Jordan!! And Jordan is apart of who…NIKE!!

$500 dollars for shoes and $200 dollars for slides, cannot be justified when your competition charges much less for way better quality. Now I understand the “Build black business argument”, but this isn’t the time for that argument.

Maybe they’re just doing this to create a market and adjust from there. By these being the first release (collectors item if his son becomes great) maybe the next release will be more affordable. I really think this idea only goes as far as how good his son plays in the pros.

Never lose sight of what brought you here.
