This is something I struggled with for the first 40 years of my life.

Background: I understood red pill in my relations~~~s but had blind spot in corporate world. Caused me to be laid off three times. Each time, after six or so months, I received a phone call “what will it take to get you back.” My answer was “money”, duh.

Now during this whole time I developed a relationship with a man I will call him John Galt. He is the smartest human being currently on this planet. As he says, “I’m not the God, but I am a god.” As you can imagine, few people can stand to be around him. Unless they need something.

Anyway, I confided in him about my problem dealing with always getting laid off and then called back when their job was on the line, tit in ringer, etc.

He told me that as a friend, I was his favorite blister. But, my coworkers consider me to be the worst blister. The difference between us was that I was painful to be around.

He said that I didn’t know my audience. Didn’t understand how to be the smartest person in the room. It is easy when your iq is close to retarded.

He explained that he let them fail and then come to him for assistance and let them revel in the teams success. I on the other hand worked to ensure the teams success from the outset.

Knowing your audience is the key. That is why I like this forum. John Galt says I must grow on them before they can appreciate me. Most can’t stand me long enough. This forum gives me a chance. And you’re as close to perfection of thought as I have found in cyber world.

    Peace brothers

I’m sorry this thread didn’t get any replies… but it struck a chord with me because although I haven’t been “fired” per se and then asked back…

It was more like they didn’t know what they had until AFTER I left.
Then they would ask me back or make me a better offer.

Once (when I was naive) I asked for a raise and didn’t get it.
Then when I got serious and announced that i was leaving, I got the raise.

This made me so angry, because they should have offered it a year SOONER, not when my hand is on the door knob as I am on my way out. So didn’t accept it for that reason and kept walking.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
