I have nothing further to add here. I have made my contributions in a respectful manner.

I have a feeling that some muslim members here might find this distasteful (the shark says radical islam). what are your thoughts?

    Tough.

Truth is painful – that’s why so few people do it.

The Quran is just a collection of sayings of one person who existed 1,400 years ago. You have to understand the historical context of this book. There are plenty of other books that may have certain passages which are similar.

So believers can ‘pick-n-choose’ or decide what parts of their holy books are relevant today and want parts aren’t? Is that how it works now?

I’ve actually seen this argument before in Bill Maher’s documentary ‘Religulous’. A Muslim lady was telling Maher that the really nasty parts of the Quran no longer apply today. You’d kinda think that an instruction manual dictated by a ‘perfect’ supreme being would have been a little more specific on this point if this was indeed the case…

CAUTION: THE FOLLOWING YOUTUBE LINK IS THE TRAILER IS FOR THE BILL MAHER DOCUMENTARY ‘RELIGULOUS’. THE DOCUMENTARY TAKES A CRITICAL LOOK AT VARIOUS RELIGIONS AND THEIR EFFECT ON SOCIETY. NOT RECOMMENDED VIEWING FOR THE REALITY INTOLERANT!

I have made this exact argument to other Muslims but it gets you nowhere. Been there, done that. It will not work. What is your goal here? If the goal is to stop radical Muslims then you have to work with moderate Muslims. You cannot pose the argument you are posing because it will p~~~ them off and they will not listen to you. You are correct but it does not work.

    What is your goal here?

Opening up some eyes is the goal and getting people to just think.

(I’ve also considered trying to win a popularity contest but it seems that that hasn’t been going all that well. 😀 )

Autolite. Please remove that s~~~. Not cool.

It wasn’t intended to be be “cool”. It’s representative of how ‘radical’ Muslims interpret their faith. It’s accurate and it’s not my fault that it’s distasteful.

Consider the guy with the ‘beheading’ sign. He’s a Muslim and he WANTS non-Muslims to know what he thinks. He’s openly advertising his beliefs. And you’re faulting me?

If KM says that we must bury the truth to preserve ‘good taste’, if he says that we will disregard fact for the sake of the feelings of others, I’ll abide by that.

Consider also that it was not my deliberate intention to offend. Had it been, I’ve seen nastier videos that I could have posted…

Brother I have no doubt you never ment to offend. I just feel we don’t need to post such images.

    Peace is > piece.

Regardless, all I am saying is that some of us just found the gruesome nature of those photos a bit uncomfortable. That is all.

    I respect that.

    I don't need a legacy.. I don't need a monument.
