    I’ve been following a ketogenic diet for ten months. I’ve dropped more than 130 lbs, my vitals have gone from 160 / 90 to under 120/80. According to blood tests before and after starting the diet I completely reversed my fatty liver disease and improved every measure of health during the last ten months.

    Question:  Do you find that alcoholic drinks are more intoxicating while on a ketogenic diet than before you were on one?

    I don’t drink. Not out of any religious or moral or ethical objection to it. I never picked up the habit.

    You can drink alcohol on low carb diets. Avoid beer. Look for liquor or wine.

    Low-carb diet has been a well known solution to obesity since William Banting published his famous booklet in 1863. Besides obesity, it deals successfully with diabetes and hardening of the arteries.

    Speaking of addiction, substitute “getting laid” for “cookie” and it’s still true.

    YES  lol

    Booze seems to be much more effective while in ketosis than when not.  Don’t know why.  Watch out for the memory loss and rapid onslaught of drunkenness.  Nausea, and blackouts are common.  I think that perhaps the liver somehow stops metabolizing the alcohol to some extent, because it is the only source of energy at the moment, so blood alcohol level rises (builds up) quickly similar to someone who has a poorly functioning liver, or a half plugged sink drain.  Just a guess though.

    Keeping your hunger in check is a huge part of the solution. If your diet is based upon protein as your main macronutrient with moderate healthy fat and smaller amounts of carbohydrates, preferably via vegetables, berries and a variety of nuts like almonds, walnuts, etc., you are going to have a much easier time fighting these false hunger signals. Eating carbohydrates as the main part of your diet will almost always lead to overeating and more frequent eating, regardless if your body is getting enough fuel and you would normally feel satiated.

    Planned carb-loading is fine for those involved in strenuous activities such as weightlifting and higher intensity cardio. Your muscle glycogen levels get depleted eventually through strength training so infrequent carb loads will help restore that.

    And remember, always drink plenty of water. Fat loss and overall health is dependent on good hydration as well as diet.

    Producing lactic acid is my balance, it’s a natural pain vs gain. I don’t body build, but do like endurance, and sweating, keeps your calories burning, slow day, less to eat; fast day like skiing, FEAST!

    Don’t eat Twinkies, or anything like it! Mono and Diglycerides is a fancy name for rancid oil; Triglycerides makeup extra virgin olive oil (good s~~~). Bio diesel production fractures tri, di, and mono’s from the clycerin, replacing it with methanol, that’s where I found out about mono and diglycerides it in the first place. A better analogy is a hand (glycerin) and 1 , 2, or 3 fingers with the 3 finger hand being triglycerides(EV olive oil).

    We eat chemicals every day. My plant fertilizer consists of Human grade chemical compounds, not agricultural grade, that stuff has traces of heavy metal compounds including arsenic, chromium, nickel, and others. It’s crazy what people eat and don’t even question it.

    Land whales are 62.847% Mono and diglycerides, or converted to BTU,  you can heat your house for 2 or 3 days, or drive your truck 165 miles (fully loaded) (over loaded).

    Eggs are a big part of Low Carb diets.  They don’t have to be boring.  Here is a great video from the master French chef himself, Jacques Pepin, on how to make a classic French omelette.

    With omelettes, practice makes perfect when it comes to presentation, but no matter how it looks, they are light and fluffy and delicious.
