Being a Canadian, I have a front row seat as to how f~~~ed-up my country has become. I used to imagine if I’d be better off living in the States. I’m not so sure now. The Republican Senators delivered. Senators McConnell, Grassley, Graham, Collins, and others show courage in the face of an all out smear campaign against Judge Kaveanaugh and they pull off the confirmation.

I hope the democrats realize that with this mess they have energized the Republican voting base (especially after this win) and pushed many RINOs in the Senate to jump onto the Trump Train.

The dems tried to pull the same s~~~ in 1991 when Republican Judge Clearance Thomas was nominated. He too had multiple FBI investigations into sexual misconduct with Anita Hill and was eventually cleared of all charges.

Like Kavanaugh, he handled it with grace and passion to defend himself.

I find it shocking that the vote was so close. Evidence gives way to feelings and in the case of those who voted against the feelings were of fear or being unpopular. Democracy is actually very weak if elected representatives fear to uphold truth and justice because of vocal minorities that manipulate popular thought.

It will be interesting to see if Republicans actually learn anything from this event. They have two choices. They can go back to fulfilling the wishes of their financial supporters, while making sure they don’t upset the media and PC public too much. Or, they can realize that they can have great success by actually fulfilling promises and representing the people that voted them in.

I don’t really think things are going to change much, and this is only going to be an aberration to the norm. Heck, many of these same senators are already caving to the pressure and telling the media that Trump is rudely mocking Ford.

Ok. Then do it.
