I’m an Engineer and on a number of occasions (too many) I have refused to sign off/approve an engineering report or design that has falsified data or sloppy engineering sometimes resulting in me leaving the company by “mutual consent” (basically given a wad of cash and told to f~~~ off).

I’ve kept track of those projects and all of those which were passed with the crappy engineering failed miserably and cost the client or the company a lot of money to rectify. Fortunately there were no health and safety issues or I wouldn’t have gone quietly.

How many women would defend their engineering principles against the pressures of project delivery timescales and/or not wanting to make a fuss?

A Chartered Engineer, which I am, is required to do so but I have rarely seen it in recent years. The entitled generation just want the title and letters after their name without the responsibility that goes with it.

I find the plans for tunnels and bridges in the video to be intriguing.

If the engineering is proven to work this could open up more interesting avenues of highway roads.

Think Keywest to Cuba by car. But, that is likely a long ways off.
