Of course you’ve seen the news that Trump was acquitted by the Senate. Maybe you’ve also seen the news that Nadler says the House still wants Bolton to testify and will most likely subpoena him. So here we go again.

But here is what I don’t understand: John Bolton either does or does not have the smoking gun. He’s either got evidence that Trump withheld aid to Ukraine in exchange for an investigation into Biden or not. So let’s take a look at the two scenarios.

ONE: He has the smoking gun. What that means is that in the mist of this impeachment trial and as much as it has furthered the divide in our country, this guy has had the ability to get Trump removed from office this entire time and chose not to. Trump is, as the Democrats have said, a “clear and present danger” to the US and we are likely to be thrown into WWIII. Bolton knows this to be a fact, but won’t say anything because he will only talk under subpoena. With the fate of the nation, make that the entire world, hanging in the balance this guy is just sitting there every day waiting for the paperwork from the court so he can go in testify. Never mind the fact that he could just go on tv and tell his story to the entire nation and FORCE the House to get his testimony. Never mind the fact that Trump fired his ass and if he had the goods he’d stab Trump in the heart with it. Never mind the fact that if he keeps his mouth shut and we did end up in a war he would go down as the biggest traitor the US has seen since Benedict Arnold. If only that subpoena would just hurry up and get to his door…..

TWO: He doesn’t have the smoking gun. But he can drum up some interest in the book he has coming out in a couple of months. And help the publisher who gave him a $2 million advance on the royalty from the sales.

For some reason door #2 seems a little more plausible to me. If he could rub Trump’s face in it and get back at him for firing his stupid ass he’d do it in a heartbeat. The fact he hasn’t already been on CNN spilling his guts tells me everything I need to know.

    Order the good wine
