I know what job hopping is but how short is too short? Is two years per job long enough? How bad is it these days? What do you think?

Job hopping comes with a few problems, it can make you look uncommitted and also you miss out on working your way up and long service leave, if such a thing exists in your country.

I have seen worse than a job every 2 years but I wouldn’t want to hop more frequently than that, unless every job is a huge step up from the last.

In Japan ever leaving a any job, regardless of circumstances, is considered disloyalty. That means that workers must put up with any kind of bulls~~~. On the other hand Japanese employers take much more care of their workers providing them with health maintenance and even match making services for their single employees.
I personally believe in loyalty to my employer but loyalty must be earned. I have left jobs despite taking a cut in salary because I was not being respected.
