Hi All,

I just recently heard about MGTOW and I’m still figuring out what the mindset is all about.  It seems that I’ve been going that route for a while and didn’t even realize it.

About me.  I retired from the U.S. Army over 10 years ago.  I earned a BS in Geology from ASU after retiring, but never pursued it as a career.  I’m currently working as a security manager with a large insurance company.  I have 2 grown sons who currently live with me.

Before learning about MGTOW a few days ago, I thought my situation was pretty rare.  I divorced about 15 years ago and haven’t pursued a relationship since.  Nothing.  I’ve often asked myself why I never sought out female companionship after my divorce, but never really came up with a good answer.  I’m tall, fit, I’m a good looking guy, and people generally like me.  Women have shown interest on multiple occasions, and still do, but I always push them away.   At first I rationalized that it was because I was focusing on my career and raising my sons, but after a while I realized that it was because I don’t want to deal with the romance games women typically play.  Don’t get me wrong, I would like to find a woman who I could call a friend, and enjoy a physical relationship with, but I haven’t found that yet, and that’s OK.

I now focus on living life to the fullest.  I was into obstacle course races like the Tough Mudder and Spartan Races for a while, and really enjoyed them, but want something bigger and more adventurous.  For about a year now I’ve been planning a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.  It’s 2189 miles and will take up to 6 months to complete if my body can take it.  I’m taking a leave of absence from my job if they’ll let me, and I’ll quit if they won’t.  I’m starting my hike on April 3rd from Springer Mountain, Georgia, and I’m pumped.

Hope to have some good discussions with ya’ll.  Cheers.

    Welcome Jack!

Congrats on not having your wife rip away your sons from you. I hope you’ve raised your sons to be aware of the dangerous nature of women. Good luck on your backpacking trip man.

I'm paying her 25% of my salary over the next eight years. I had to pay my lawyer, her lawyer, 50% of all my retirement funds and give her another few thousand dollars to make her go away. It cost me $20 to get married and will cost me over $220,000 to get divorced.

Welcome to the land of free men. Go your own way and enjoy the dickens out of it!

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Hi Jack! Welcome to MGTOW! Big respect and salutations for your service.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Damn, dude… you really ARE going your own way. That’s hard core. Try doing something like that in the context of a relationship… “Hey babe, I’m taking a sabbatical to hike 2000 miles. See you in six months!”

You’d be divorced and your stuff would be burned to the ground by the time you got back.
