It’s my body and my choice. Therefore I’m choosing to walk away. No… I’m not quitting, that would imply that I was a real participant in the first place. I know now that I wasn’t. I was just a pawn, a pawn in a game rigged against me. A game where I never stood a chance. The grand illusion of TV and movies splashed across a variety of screens tried to sell me a yarn the size of Texas. They had me going for a few years I must admit.
Then I saw it. It wasn’t supposed to happen. I was supposed to keep my head down and fawn at the gorgeous or not-so-gorgeous woman who chose me. Chose me for what? To provide for her, to father her child. Or children if she so decided, it was all up to her of course. No, I began to see the light that shown through the cracks in the rocks that formed Plato’s Cave. Oh and what a sight lay on the other side or those stone walls! I saw the ugly nature of the beautiful sirens calling to me from Camp Palorum. I saw the vulgar nature of the gears that ground up men like me if I kept going. Frozen I sat indecisive for a time, not knowing what to do. But then it dawned on me…
It’s my body, my choice. I chose to not sleep with a woman who can change her mind not just before or during the encounter no, but hours to decades after.
It’s my body, my choice. So I decide what happens to the fruit of my labor. I will spend my time and my money on what I want without asking for permission from anyone. For me it’s my car and my investments. For others it’s comic books and video games. I refuse to contribute to a woman’s “security” simply because it’s expected of me. She’s equal to me and can do it herself. At least that’s what the term “equality” means right?
It’s my body, my choice. So I decided to leave the government out of my bedroom. That would be the other entity in my bed when a wife lies down to sleep with me at night. A nascent force ready to pounce at the command of a princess’s whim. A court system without my best interest at heart awaits when she becomes restless. I have a body in those situations, but I would have no choice. My assets would be divided up by people mre powerful than me who have assumptions about my life. Assumptions that are not only flat out wrong but fifty years out of date as well.
My body, my choice. So I decided to reclaim my sovereignty. I decided to say the word “No.” In a world of competing priorities I chose my own sanity. I chose to put my needs ahead of the needs of a wife or a girlfriend. Not because I don’t desire women, it’s because I desire a life that’s compleatly whole far more than the temporally fleeting pleasure that comes from the allure of a soft voice and blue eyes. Yes the becoming gaze and the flowing hair can be more powerful than any drug. But the chorus of men who have been sacrificed on the hill of gyncentrism and female supremacy overwhelm the desire for a little fun.
My body, my choice. I choose to be what they call a MGTOW. At least that’s what others have told me I’ve chosen in life. And I tend to agree. Although I’ve been like this long before the term showed up.
