Watching this reminded me of the robots in the 1980’s Robocop movies. Especially, Robocop II. And in an unnerving way.

    The future really is now.

Yes. This is an achievement. But, I am not sure if this is a good or bad achievement.

All right, who’s the asshole with the hockey stick, and then the tube.
Robot was smart to leave and go his own way.

For all who haven’t seen “Ex Machina” …GREAT film, recommended by Brain Pilot months ago, you won’t be disappointed!

"It seems like there's times a body gets struck down so low, there ain't a power on earth that can ever bring him up again. Seems like something inside dies so he don't even want to get up again. But he does."

Ex Machina plain reeked of feminist propaganda.

    @thelongwalk
    I disagree.
There’s four ways of looking at the film.
Try the young man’s view for starters, certainly not pro feminist.
He ends up what?……… how is this pro feminist??

Ok, it’s been a little while, and I was probably drunk at the time I watched the film, but I’ll try to explain what I mean.

Caleb, the young coder. Single, lonely and comes across as somewhat desperate. Typical ‘beta’ type guy, he becomes an uber mangina when he fall in love with the AI fembot (will refer to as ‘girl’). He’s trying to help the girl escape, but for selfish reasons – so the message (as viewed from my chair) is that it’s ok for her to manipulate him, use him to escape then leave him to die.

god those bastards at Boston Dynamics did it again, as an engineer in formation in communications and electronics, it’s incredible to see a working prototype of an android, makes you wonder what they’ll achieve in the next 4 or 5 years.

As for the Ex machina movie, oh yeah, great great movie, I think Caleb indeed was a stupid prick, thinking with his dick, but that teach us to not trust A.I. even more if it comes in the look of a pretty teen girl.

……………….”And now you see why they are always trying to kill us.” -Every “Machines gone mad” movie. It’s extra funny if you read it with Morgan Freeman’s voice.

Learn from the past, Control the present, and you will know the Future.

Stick a pair of d size boobs and a fleshlight in it and you have the perfect wife!!!

Now seriously, i think androids are going to end up in the military shooting and blowing things up.

Men have a nasty tendency to turn useful things into machines of war.

Think of the boat, the car, the airplane.

Yes I’ve seen “Ex Machina”. I did not like the story. I think it ended like this (droids kill people), because it would have been too politically incorrect, if the guy doing the Turing-test, and the droid girl just get together and live happily ever after. I mean, the girl is a droid, not an actual woman. So she (if correctly programmed) does not kill anyone (laws of robotics, and of humans) and might not annoy anyone and may be more likely to cooperate with a human than an actual woman.
(actually a really intelligent being is expected to behave like that)
But that end of movie just would have been to misogynist for general public.
