I cannot agree with this enough. The general populace has become so ignorant and toxic, that you can be a genuinely good and righteous man and feel like the whole world is against you.

In my opinion you need a few good people to vouch for your good character, to satisfy yourself that you are indeed, a good man. If there is no one to vouch for you at all, then it’s possible you have a warped view of yourself, and thus you still have work to do. I shun most of the world but I’m not so arrogant to think that my opinion alone is sufficient, we must verify this by at least a couple of other good persons (ideally men).

I have been called a sucker for being good to people more than once in my life , mainly by women, like being a decent human being is a bad quality.
Women used to tell me “why you do that for him” , one was even rude enough to tell me there is no reason for me to pick up my sister and my nephews from the air port.

It’s like being a good person to society is being a loser for them
