The maternity leave that Italy offers is ridiculous too. 5 months paid maternity leave at 80% salary with an optional 6 month period afterwards paid at 30%. This money comes from INPS which is Italy’s version of Social Security.

I don’t think it’ll pass, and that’s unfortunate: a law granting 3 whole paid leave days, each damn month, to women, could give to men a substantial advantage when it comes at both hiring and career.
The average working month is 22 days, it would be 19 days for women and 22 days for men: it’s 15.79% more productivity for men – by having to do absolutely nothing more.
This is very different from maternity leave: maternity happen once or twice in the life of a woman and have a very important social function. Paid leave for menstruating would be like officially admitting that women are 15.79% less productive by default: given the educational gender gap (63% master degrees earned by women) combined with incentives to hire women rather than men that we have here, a similar move could rebalance the playing field in the job market.
I’m realistic, and I know the world we live in: the best chances for men aren’t in a fictional and unlikely to happen “male revolt” but in the state pandering too much to women greed and sense of entitlement, and women acting more and more as looters, and ultimately shooting themselves in their own foot
