It Was A Good Day!

The last couple of weeks I have been worried about a friend. He served in the US Army with two tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. On his last Afghanistan tour, his unit was pretty much blown to bits by an IED. He, and another soldier survived, while losing about a dozen others. He’s pretty f~~~ed up physically and mentally. He was given a medical retirement for PTSD.

Like a lot of soldiers experience, his 2nd wife f~~~ed around on him while he was deployed. Poor guy has two kids from two different c~~~s. His present c~~~ decided that she wants for them to get married, buy a house, and have a kid. He’s 35, while she is 40.

He explained that he is paying child support on 2 kids that he rarely gets to see. Why should he go through the meat grinder again, he asked?

About a week ago, I saw him out in the parking lot of my apartment complex. It looked like he got his ass kicked. He had a pretty good shiner for a black eye. I couldn’t help but inquire about it. He blamed it on diving to catch a baseball. I didn’t believe that lie for a second. Nonetheless, I didn’t argue.

A few days later, he confessed that she had given him the black eye. He knew he couldn’t hit her back or he would be in jail. Another day passes and he admits that she found his 9mm, aimed it at him, and pulled the slide back. Somehow, he convinced her to disarm.

My reaction? I’m looking for a dump truck of red pills to dump on him! But, I know that it’s better to let him take it on his own without my encouragement. I very much wanted to refer him to this website. I’m thinking that either she kills him or he kills her…eventually.

I haven’t seen him for a couple of days. This evening, he called me to tell me that he loaded all of his s~~~ into his truck while she was at work and has moved 85 miles away. He has a new cell number and has become a ghost. He thanked me for expressing my concern and that I told him what he needed to hear.

Gentlemen, I couldn’t be happier! I don’t know if I accidentally gave him a red pill or if he just happened to find it all on his own. It doesn’t make any difference to me. I’m just glad that he has gone his own way! I thought happy endings only happened in fairy tales. I guess I was wrong this time.

and this is why I have zero respect for the police. they do nothing to save a man like that in his situation. if he was foolish enough to go for them for help, they would arrest him

The cheating wife of a soldier should be charged with the capital crime of treason. Pouncing on anything with a c~~~ while he is off fighting for her most basic freedoms and liberties is something she can help. A soldier needs to keep his mind on staying alive….. not whether or not his wife is f~~~ing her new man friend.

being from Yurep and not around guns, i know that one should only pull out a gun with the intention to shoot someone or something.

so if anyone pulls a gun on ya, they need to get ghosted at the very least or get their lights switched off as a preventive measure.

It is with great humility that I accept being recognized as MGHOW for the weekend. I wasn’t looking for any personal recognition. I just wanted to share the good news that my buddy was able to make a life-saving decision by moving out from a dangerous situation.

I was careful about how I worded my response to his situation. He’s a bit stubborn and loves to argue over the most moot point. I simply “invited” him to examine his relationship and come to his own conclusion on whether it was healthy or not. I asked him if he felt it was fair to dodge death in the desert, to only have it one day find him in the “safety” of his woman’s love back home.

Phoenix is right, his story might not have a happy ending, ultimately. Like a lot of other men, he could fall right back into the same trap, learning nothing.

I would LOVE to be able to do my part to SAVE all the men that are setting the stage for their own wedding/demise. However, I reflect on a brilliant post from long ago by Cap285, “Let them touch the hot stove.” I consider all the time and effort that guys like OldBill and Old Sage spend in trying to help the young guys. Sometimes I feel their efforts are wasted. But they keep trying.

I don’t know how effective we are in preventing a wedding. I hope the success rate is high. I certainly wish that I had the opportunity to discover this website back in 2000 before I decided to f~~~ up my life by proposing to a succubus.

Great Job Los Puke, you saved a friend and brother. I hope he continues on the path of healing. Hate to admit that this is all too common these days in the military as women have little reason not to f~~~ over the serviceman. Popular media would have made a hero out of her if she had fired the round.

There is only one simple word for you to learn, leave.

Don’t discuss it, don’t do it during a fight. Like this guy did. Leave, come back when she’s not there and get your s~~~ and leave town. ASAP. Going to jail just isn’t worth it and offing yourself is giving in to that hateful bored bitch.

If the locks are changed break them. My ex did. She took her s~~~ and my attorney said that despite me not being allowed to change the locks but that we could not get her for breaking the court order of protection.

If you have kids, ask them to come with you. If there is abuse, take them with you to get away from their abuser. Find a shelter.

That’s why we need shelters for men and their children as women have become much more physically violent in our lifetime. One in five men report abuse by their women.

And you know not many guys will come forward with these kinds of allegations for fear of being arrested themselves. So the number of men abused is probably equal to the number of women.

It’s just that women use weapons to equal the fight. Like that gun.

You are creating hope for men kind enough to not hit back when cupcake is whaling on them (pun intended).

USN/USNR veteran. I heard plenty of stories of wives riding the c~~~ carousel at high speed and filing for divorce while their husband was overseas and sometimes at war. I don’t know if there is a worse time for a woman to do that to a man, it’s disgusting. We called it “Navy relationship syndrome” but unfortunately, it happens in all branches (the Navy has the highest divorce, attempted suicide and alcoholism rate of all, the Marines have the highest suicide success rate, the best to the end). We all know that when you are down and out, that’s when they start kicking you. You have the p~~~ test to worry about so you slam the booze down at rates high enough to kill a man just to live with the misery, it doesn’t work very well. There is a reason why many veterans become drunks, even after they get out but it’s hard to explain to others. One doesn’t even need to see combat for the military to f~~~ with your head but combat certainly helps. My Uncle did three tours in Vietnam as a Ranger and when he got back, he had to spend six months in the ward. So, I consider myself as fortunate.
